Gamecube and Wii U iterations are better in all cases apart from the Mario games. The Wii sucked. I'm so glad Nintendo is seeing the light again.

The article actually unintentionally shows why so many gamers have such a negative mindset: The AAA games scene has gone into the toilet in terms of quality. There are very few publishers that care about quality over quarterly profits.

I was still within my free Live Gold period so it wouldn't let me play. I tried using a paid code and it gave me an error code saying I already have a Live Sub active. I was pretty pissed that I missed it actually.

Yeah pretty much. The good games on PS4 are also on PC, X1 and in many cases PS360. It hasn't really helped the Wii U in terms of sales, but as long as Nintendo are profiting on it that shouldn't be a problem.
Until games can compete with books and movies, gameplay is king.
