I'm getting the feeling people don't even know what the hell MGS4 is. First, we get tons of people crying "it's not stealth, it's a shooting game" in an effort to downplay the game, and then we get people calling it a "linear stealth action game". Make your minds up.
I ask you, apart from the Thief series, what stealth game is there less linear than Metal Gear Solid? Splinter Cell, the third best stealth action series out there, was far more linear than the MGS serie...
Metacritic take up to weeks to update their score for MGS4 with the 10's, and probably will just miss some of them out completely regardless of their source, but when EDGE and Eurogamer gave it an 8, those scores went up there instantly. It's obvious this has something to do with Metacritic being property of CNET, a company that finds it's natural habitat somewhere up Microsoft's anal cavity.

In my opinion, MGS, for someone who's played the games, isn't even hard to comprehend.
I honestly think the people who can't get the game are just lacking in intelligence, or have abnormally short attention spans. And, it lasts about thirty hours at the most, whereas the previous games in the series could end up getting two hundred hours of playtime each. Without counting GTA 1 & 2, it was the worst game in the series.

The console, from a design perspective, should only really get an F, it;s just a flat out unreliable console, which is not good. But, as far as software is concerned, I agree with everything the author said, which just about brings the console up to a pass. If I didn't have fun playing it, it would fail, but I do, and that's what matters in the end.
Although, the score they gave it for Xbox Live was pushing it a tiny bit.

I don't think you understand fully. The metacores that "matter" are Metacritic and Gamerankings. They only count sites that they think are credible, so they don't count blogs and lesser-known sites like this one.
