Well, it wouldn't be the first time that porn has dragged a new technology into the mainstream! lol

I do feel like the decision to take the game from multiplatform to PC exclusive meant they were going to tap the advantages of using a mouse over a controller. I think that a complex user interface that's consistent with other really deep strategy games could be difficult to navigate with a controller, possibly even downright frustrating.

Maybe I'm completely wrong though, maybe controller support simply isn't ready yet and they'll roll it out when it is......

If you haven't tried 'The Long War' Mod for Xcom you need to go try it now, brings the game up to a whole new level. Seriously, chess vs checkers is a fair analogy for 'The Long War' vs 'Enemy Within'. The other exciting thing is that they are bringing 'The Long War' team in to Firaxis to do mods for them!

I don't think anybody has posted all the correct numbers above but don't worry, I can solve this controversy... WITH MATH lol

Xbox One with GPU at it's original 800Mhz clock
1.23 TFLOPs
38.4 Gtexels/sec
12.8 Gpixel/sec

FLOPs:
12 SCs * 4 SIMDs * 16 threads/clock * (1 mul + 1 add) * 800 MHz = 1.23 TFLOPs
Bilinear fetch rate:
4 fetches/clock * 12 SCs * 800 MHz = 38.4 Gtexels/sec
Pixel rate:

I hear you Ultra Nova, I live in Canada and, while not nearly as bad as you, it is about an extra 750 dollars more than in the US. I guess that's why I have a 970 in my build instead of a 980ti lol I do plan to add a second 970 later this year which should bring it up to 980ti standards...

Thanks super_bruno

Couple of errors I made

1. Memory: should have been 'DDR3 1866' not 'DDR4 1866'

2. After re-examining the power supplies, I realized that the Corsair RMi and RMx series are 7 year warranties but the RM series is only 5 years warranty. The EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2 has a 10 year warranty and is also 80+ gold and features a fanless mode aswell... In retrospect, the cost/benefit may be worth an extra $20 consider...

There's certainly nothing wrong with your build and not knowing exactly what you are going for in your build, I would recommend this as an alternative:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/T...

I would go with the 1151 socket (skylake) instead of the 1150 socket. The 1150 socket is at the end of it's life and the 1151 socket just launched so this will give you a lot of upgrade options down the road that won...

Choosing DDR4 RAM isn’t a decision made in a vacuum for the purpose of “bragging rights”, it is part of your platform decision, if you want a skylake processor, you are going to use DDR4 RAM because that is the RAM that is used on the skylake platform. I am happy to say that I didn’t sacrifice latency because I chose skylake/DDR4 and I gained bandwidth which may not have much of an impact but it does in fact help in a few games and applications and will likely help more and more as time goes ...

Whoops, messed up my latency calculation, forgot to multiply by 2 due to the double data rate base clock being half... should have been 8.12ns and 7.50ns

There are a lot of factors involved in choosing memory.
The single biggest advantage of DDR4 over DDR3 (not including bandwidth of course) is heat. All the low latency DDR3 RAM is running at high voltages (1.6-1.65V) to acheive that speed which is like putting a heater next to your processor. Not very good for overclocking. DDR4 RAM runs in 1.2-1.35V range depending on it's speed.

As a personal example, I am using Geil DDR4-3000 RAM with a tCL of 13 cycles and ...

This is truly an area where the marketing companies have confused the crap out of everybody using UHD and 4k interchangably and together. There are basically 2 standards, professional (DCI) and consumer.

DCI 2K = 2048x1080
DCI 4K = 4096x2160
Full HD = 1920x1080
4K UHD = 3840x2160
8k UHD = 7680x4320

I can see you not having heard of some of those titles if you are a console exclusive gamer but you have to understand that your question is the equivalent of me asking if uncharted is 'AAA'. I'm not sure if you are purposely trying to be offensive or if you truly just have no idea about gaming outside of your personal little bubble.

I am presently (re)playing X-Com: Enemy Within in preparation for X-Com 2 just as I (re)played Fallout 3 & NV before getting into Fallout 4 which I am also still playing.

I don't really think or care about whether a game is exclusive to PC or not, but I went through the games I played this year and limited this list to only PC exclusive games of very high quality that I played which were also released this year or had an expansion that came out this year:

trying to decide which game is better, Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 is what I call a high quality problem.

It's all about perception and proportionality... you can see from the pic and chart in this page that a 27" screen 4 feet away from your eyes is equivalent to an 80" screen 11 feet away. I game on a 34" ultrawide sitting only 2.5 feet away, using the same proportions, that's equivalent to a 160" ultrawide at 11 feet. Then throw in the extra resolution, framerate and gsync (or freesync if you are using amd) and you have a much more engrosing picture!

Seriously, who is the one that is TRYING to be annoying here?

All I see is a self centered, ignorant and misinformed rant about PC Gaming culture. We are talking about heroic levels of fail here.
