"Most of us don't have any ambitions to race on a real track."

That's great but this article talks about GT sim racers earning real licences at the track. These "racing sims" prepare you for real world racing as much as Wii Golf would prepare you to play real golf.

As someone that enjoys playing racing games for fun, and as someone that has been open wheel racing in the real world for well over a decade, and as someone who h...

Until the likes of GT, Forza or any of the other "sim racing" titles start prioritizing driving behavior, damage and crash physics over car manufacturing brand image and rewarding terrible gamer racing behaviors to enhance the fun factor, I don't think any sim racer should be allowed anywhere near a real track.

Have a look at a title being worked on called BeamNG.drive, it obviously needs a lot of spit and polish and is more sandbox driving game then racing ga...

I don't think Intel's 711M stat generally represents what most here would consider to be a 'core' gamer... However, Edmix's 125M stat is from Feb 2015. Steamspy presently shows 166.8M steam users which does show that pc gaming is growing.

And if you look closely at the steam stats, approx 25% of nVidia owners alone have GPUs with the processing power o...

Plus colour subsampling.
1.4 does 4k up to 30fps at 8 bit colour depth using 4.2.0 colour subsampling.
2.0 does 4k up to 60fps at 10 bit colour depth using 4.2.2 colour subsampling.
2.0a does 4k up to 60fps at 10 bit colour depth using 4.2.2 colour subsampling with HDR.

UHD Blu-rays, 4k Netflix and every other service that supplies UHD content also requires the newest version of high-bandwidth digital content protection, HDCP 2.2.

HDMI 1.4 can do UHD but only 30fps with 8bit colour, 4.2.0 colour subsampling and no HDR.

You need HDMI 2.0a to display UHD up to 60fps, 10bit colour, 4.2.2 colour subsampling and HDR (what UHD Blu-ray offers). Virtually all content out there also requires HDCP 2.2. Both of these need hardware changes and all of the devices connected in the chain need to be compliant as well.

I live in Canada too. $60usd is roughly equivalent to $80cdn right now.

You know you are allowed to wait, right? Nobody forces you to buy games at launch, the prices will and do reduce over time. Using price as an excuse for piracy is weak.

In the end, if the ps4k is real then everyone here has a very important voice that they can choose to exercise, the voice of their pocketbook. If no one buys it, then it will fail and if many buy it, it will succeed regardless of what your personal opinion is.

I think the statement should be "Some 4k monitors are better than 4k tvs for gaming but not all are"

I'm going to have to agree with mixelon here. I'm not really sure what people are percieving to have "lost"? The tracer character still has D-sized breasts, inhumanly long, thin legs, a perfect body with super sexy curvy hips and flat stomach and her costume makes her look like she's wearing a push-up bra, laced up stockings and it's pulled so far up her butt crack that I swear they've 3d modeled her anus between her butt cheeks. Just look at page three of Bli...

Yeah, I plan to wait for the UHD push to stabilize before I invest. The Atmos theaters were rolling out when I was building my theater so I designed the extra channels into my build figuring it was only a matter of time before it happened at home. Now, 3 years later, it's here! These are still a little out of my price range but that will change in a year or 2...

Nice! I have a 9.2.6 setup but I am only powering the two front heights right now so it is technically only 9.2.2 right now. Waiting for something like the Trinnov Altitude or JBL Synthesis processors to come down in price, they offer up to 32 channels of processing but I am waiting for the 16 channel variants.

Dr. Raymond Soneira from Displaymate Technologies had this to say about Samsung's S7 Diamond Pentile OLED screen:

First of all, the Red, Green, and Blue sub-pixels have very different sizes – Blue is by far the largest because it has the lowest light emission efficiency, and Green is by far the smallest because it has the highest efficiency. The alternating Red and Blue sub-pixel arrangement leads to a 45 degree diagonal symmetry in the sub-pixel layout. This allows vert...

What are you on about? The dollar was about par when the ps4 launched and plummeted down to 68 cents by the beginning of this year as the value of oil, which our economy is strongly tied to, plummeted.

And only in recent years have prices been close between the two countries because the dollar has been valued closely. Historically, there has been a disparity in pricing proportional to the dollar value. In fact, if anything, there was discord on pricing when the dollar valu...

Canadians fully understand that healthcare isn't free, it is a basic tenet of our society. Making sure that even the most vulnerable are cared for is part of the Canadian paradigm which we are fully committed to paying for. So, yes, we do love the 'free' healthcare.

I don't see what healthcare has to do with what sony has decided to charge for the psvr though.

Supporting Rashid's view, I can't see many reasons for owning the camera peripheral before now. Most likely many of the biggest fans bought it but I don't see many others having bought it.

Supporting Abriael's view, the people that actually bought the camera are also more likely to be the same people that are buying psvr.

However, since the psvr requires the camera, I think sony should have included it and priced it as part of the standard pa...
