If it's designed primarily as a retro games console then I could see the ability to play Android games as a secondary function. I don't think it'll be playing games like BF1, RDR2, Destiny 2 etc. But we won't know for sure until the specs are revealed.
I'm assuming they mean Android mobile games when they say it'll play modern games. I kinda like the console look tbh.
