PS1 classics and PS1 BC are not the same, PS1 classics are the same as PS2 classics. All of the predictions in this article are taken from an email Sony sent out ages ago to gauge interest in features for firmware updates, these are the only ones that haven't been implemented yet.
PS1 classics compatibility isn't backwards compatibility. They work the same way as PS2 classics.
