Whats Kojima trying to pull here? I must study the ancient plaques and consult with my elders.
I was hoping for a southern drawl.
If Microsoft just came out and said "Okay, we admit it, The Xbox series X is just a computer and issued a firmware update that allowed you to install windows (11 for best results?) on it and still run Xbox games off it as normal, then what's the difference? The Steam Deck is pre-installed with Steam OS for best results but it has the option to install whatever a PC can handle. That's the difference, we're given options instead having us jerked around inside a walled garden wh...
No thanks, The X-Deck wouldn't be an open system guaranteed.
They should remake the older games for next (current) gen.
Sir, this is a Wendys
I'm really looking forward to play as Tommy Pickles.
Where's District 10!?!
There might be a M.2 drive available but it won't be easily accessible and the format of the NVME isn't even available for purchase through normal means either.
Honestly, the lowest model shouldn't even exist. People who buy it are just going to regret not at least buying the 256gb model.
I doubt there's a lot of parents out there rushing to pre-order little Timmy one of these things.
"is not readily available to be purchased alone." What's the point if you can't even buy one?
This price for the Steam Deck really tells me that Sony and Microsoft shouldn't be scared of selling higher end consoles that exceed $500. I'd be glad to pay $700 or $800 for a super high end PS5 with all the trimmings and nothing held back.
It was the opposite for me. Being able to play handheld is literally the only thing that makes the Switch appealing to me. And it'll be the same for the Steam Deck too. There are certain games that I just don't feel like firing up on my PC but I'd love to play handheld while my PC is busy doing other things.
The thing that bothers me is that it's as strong as a PS4 and yet it only displays at best, a Nintendo Switch. I'll wait for the Steam Deck 2 after they've learned their lessons from the first one and finally put in a 1080p screen at the very least.
I don't know how Valve is going to handle it but if they only sell it through their steam storefront, they may only allow one per account. It won't stop scalpers from making new dummy accounts but it'll slow them down.
Funny enough, the thing that sells me here is the fact that it doesn't have an OLED. Don't get me wrong, I love OLED displays but the burn-in is unreal.
I'm more interested in this than the Switch OLED but I wish it had a 1080p screen.
My LG is a 2017 model so if they improved the burn-in prevention since then. then that's great. However, burn-in happens anyway but people just don't notice it. Try displaying solid colors on your OLEDS to check uniformity. When I started noticing burn-in on my set, I tried the solid colors and it revealed burn-in everywhere across the whole screen. Of course during normal use, you won't notice it until it gets really bad in certain spots.
