I LOVE preinstalls. I think every developer should do it. The results are DEFINITELY worth the wait while it copies to my hard drive. For those of you who disagree, that's just too damned bad.

I've watched the comparison videos, and honestly....that pop-in on the 360 version is very annoying.
I love how on the PS3 version, the trees and objects are rendered much farther out into the distance. That makes the experience much more realistic, rather than seeing trees fade into existence from a few hundred yards away.
I hope developers use the hell out of my 60GB (soon to be 320GB) hard drive, so they can make pop-in a thing of the past.

That "won't play online" quip is no longer valid.
That freeze thing is only showing to be happening on a RARE occasion with LAUNCH 60GB PS3s.
If he bought a PS3, it would be a 40GB / 80GB version, which would most likely be completely unaffected.

I sold 2 PS3s and 4 copies of GTA IV
I sold 0 Xbox 360s and 5 copies of GTA IV
That's probably an indication that GTA IV is going to move more hardware overall.
We'll see what happens in a week or two. So far, my little experiment has been holding true.
