I don't know what other game you've played that has a one-shot camera transitioning between gameplay and cinematics without ever breaking but please let me know if there are any.
Maybe, I think the promise of horizon 2, spiderman 2, god of war 5 and a new ND game is enough to sell consoles

if it helps. I got a part way in and got really lost and basically stopped for a year. picked it up again and got absolutely hooked. it's a fantastic game.

I beat it in a single sitting and i loved it. I actually beat COD 4 a few times in a single sitting as well. It's actually roughly the same length.
For me less is more. I remember the moments in COD 4 and MW2019 over the other recent campaigns.
cringe is subjective mate. just because it wasn't cringe to you doesn't mean it wasnt cringe to others.
Humour is also subjective. it doesn't matter whether it was intended as a joke. the delivery sucked.
