I think on an overall level sure.
Blops 3 had better MP but the campaign was messy
Modern Warfare's MP has issues as i understand it but the campaign was spectacular
IW MP was crud but i highly enjoyed the campaign
Blops 4 had great MP but no campaign
Ghosts was average in both
I think AW at the very least has a solid campaign and solid MP but it's not the best in those individual areas.
i like gears and COD and im excited to play this. just because i play those games doesnt mean i cant enjoy games like persona 5, nier automata or luigis mansion for example because I do. I keep my options open and seem to get more experiences that way

is that the one at night when you're using flares to reveal an enemy that mission will stick with me in the same way the chernobyl mission did in cod 4
and the one where youre breaching the British house. honestly the latest one has great moments
I would say best cod campaign of the generation but not the best ever. I still prefer cod 4 and black ops 1
not entirely true I always found the BF campaigns look significantly better than MP as well
witcher 3 and bloodborne are masterpieces
but so is persona 5, nier automata, monster Hunter world, dishonored 2, fire emblem three houses, horizon, divinity 2, pillars of eternity 2 and I'd even classify god of war as an rpg nowadays.
they might not be the same style of rpg but they're still RPGs and they're still pretty great

As long as people can have and express opinion you cannot definitively say these types of comments will never happen in one industry or another. it's nothing got to do with the industry. it's about people
in Australia RRP for games are like $100. if you paid for 10 monthly subscriptions to different services it's still cheaper than buying one full priced physical/digital game
it all depends how they define "top" right? I ofc love ff7 and couldnt give a shit about fortnite but the impact that game has had in the short time it's been out is worth mentioning I think

That is desperation if i ever did see it. Only thing that would top this is the announcement that this is set in the Mass Effect universe (But pls don't do that)
I also note the exclusives have been a little spread thin this year compared to the 6+ in 2016-2018. Its only been Days Gone, Concrete Genie, MediEvil and Death Stranding.
I think Sony will actually sell more PS4s in 2020 than 2019 when you look at FF7 Remake, TLoU2, Nioh2, Ghost of Tsishuma etc.
Still both consoles have done exceptionally well.

Yeah it was a nice addition but i don't really see it talked about or used in future games the way perks, killstreaks, zombies, create-a-class, pick 10 etc. did for the series
