However, there's quite a few PS3 game sthat do not run in their advertised resolution. GT:HD, for example, runs at 1440x1080. Not quite 1080p. Lots of third party games can be cited as well, such as Jericho (I know, rubbish game) and Skate. Comparing at the moment is like comparing apples and oranges at the moment, PS3's big hitters (flagships) aren't out yet, so we have little basis for comparison. But soon, we will. Does it matter? Not really.

That's not true. It just means there's more "Pro-Sony" contributors on the site. It just reflects industry sentiment at the moment anyway. Lest we forget, not even a year ago people were still heralding the utter demise of Sony because the PS3 is "such a failure." Let the Sony fans have their time in the sun, they deserve to be a little smug at this point. I've got all three, so it doesn't bother me at all.

Captain, I don't think you understand how the record business works, or else you wouldn't have said that.

Under a record label, bands get paid for their time in the studio and get perhaps 2% of the total CD sales, if not less. The reason being that bands couldn't afford to make so many copies of a CD/tape/record on their own before the internet. The bands then make their real money buy playing gigs.

With the internet, however, bands no longer need to pay for some...

Nice to see the PS3 finally hitting it's stride. Those graphics are as good as Drake's Fortune's, IMO. But as we all know, half the beauty of Uncharted is seeing it in motion, so we'll have to wait and see for that one. Finally, the 360 is getting real and fierce competition in the graphical department. Something big better come out soon for the Microsoft camp (although I have a feeling we won't be waiting very long for some Gears 2 info, especially after all this Resistance 2 attention).

This should never have been approved. Yes it's a joke, the problem is that it's not a funy joke. It's quite dry, unwitty and smacks of the sort of pre-pubescent humour which harks back to the "glory" days of Nickelodeon. I don't want to hear "lighten up dude, it's just a joke." That idea of relativism on a supposedly journalistic website with supposed standards is laughable. The whole "you're ok, I'm ok" attitude is precisely what will sink this site to the level...

Sounds liek a wet dream, but current gen hardware and resolutions being diplayed on that sort of screen would look like crap, much like standard def stuff looks like a$s on HDTVs today. It's the problem with fixed matrix displays. Until we find an alternative to those and fix response times and black levels, I doubt I will be re-investing in a new HDTV.

Wasn't looking forward to this game at all, but these trailers have me hooked. I stopped playing FF games after VIII (V-VIII were all amazing), as the games didn't seem to progress gameplay wise (ATB got boring). The story looks excellent, and if Versus lets me play as that insane teleporty-tornado-blade-thingy guy (and doesn't have ATB), then yes, this game has certainly jumped up to a very high spot on my list. My PS3 may win me over yet, R&C I found to suck essentially as while it look...

Levine is a founding member of 2K Boston, he came up with the story and design of Thief, and was project lead on System Shock 2. Bioshock's his baby. These people are just basically being childish. Every game studio that pumps out great games has a very demanding, autocratic designer at it's heart. Kojima, Miyamoto, Levine etc. are all very talented designers who have great visions for their projects, and are probably often stern and forceful when it comes to adhering to their design principl...

There are certainly advantages and disadvantages to each. Personally, I prefer a direct, virtually lossless digital picture (HDMI/DVI) to a signal that is susceptible to loss (analogue/component). Yes, you can buy analogue cables with great insulation and protection against oustide noise, but there is still an element of loss that is possible. It's personal preference at this point, but I think it's time we all adopt a new standard that is virtually lossless, ie. purely digital. It just makes...

I'm going to go through this with you. It doesn't matter if he's referring to framerate or the CELL. If it's the CPU, the he should be using other terms. Running speed is not a term used to describe processing speed. Running speed is a very vague term. As for the HDD, it can bolster performance, but mostly because thr BD-ROM drive is slow at reading and needs to offload the data to a more speedy medium to ensure optimal movement of data (as in less texture swapping and loading times, which ar...

But I'm starting to think that either you haven't, or you've been revelling so much in fanboyish ignorance that you're blind to it.
QUOTING TIME:
"make the general game community realise the ps3 is Superior in both Graphics, and running speed as all consoles have a hard drive."

Note the man's lack of understanding about graphics and "running speed" (FRAMERATE, as it's really know. Yeah, industry experience by the bucket load) as he calls it. An...

Well If it isn't another "Mine is going to be bigger than yours when we're big boys" article. STOP POSTING THESE. Why are these stories still getting approved? Who cares enough to read yet another uneducated, non-industry employed fanboy's interpretation of what's going on in the videogame industry? Oh let me guess, OTHER FANBOYS. So, in a defensive measure, I will use my crystal ball and spare us all another absolutely moronic case of deja vu:

"OMG SO RITE I BET...

This DOES improve framerates, I noticed much more responsive experiences in the Genji demo, Fight Night Round 3 and in Heavenly Sword. I can't believe some of the ignorance in this comments section, that you would lie to YOURSELVES and live in complete denial. "DIS ARTICLE IS DA FAYK, DELEET IT SOZ I DON HAV TO READ IT PLZ." Newsflash kids: our precious PS3s are NOT perfect. They have proven time and time to again to have framerate issues, and this article merely suggests a method f...

Wow. Talk about talking out of your ass. The American youth don't hate their country. You're confusing hating your country with lacking confidence in your government. Most of them still love America but they realise that the freedoms that make America great are being whittled away. The people in control of the government now (I'm not just pointing my finger at Bush) are basically con artists. They've swindled the American taxpayers out of BILLIONS if not TRILLIONS of dollars. Selling all the ...

@ Madden: The man's made a perfectly viable statement. It's time to remove the fanboy specs. Do you not feel ridiculous making such asinine comments? I mean really, I find it hard to believe that there are people so deluded on this earth. I own all 3 consoles and I can safely say that the PS3 is indeed utterly lacking in content. We get a game demo maybe once a month or if we're lucky twice, we get overhyped, lacklustre re-hashes of tired old games. Yes, I've played Warhawk, it's a good game,...

Sony Corporation Executive attempts to spin negative press into positive press? NEVER. I am truly shocked.

If this escalates into a flame war then this site has truly gone to the dogs. Who in their right mind would take what this guy says as truth? Or even a worthwhile opinion? He HAS to say these things, he gets PAID for things like this. It's like listening to a more eloquent version of the Sony Defense Force (AKA "The Emotionally Unstable and Mentally Retarded Minors Cl...

You clearly have no idea what you're on about. For one, no one has ever had to PAY for a game demo on XBL. They're free. XBL has both gold and silver memberships. Silver members have access to the exact same marketplace content as gold members do. Time to take off those fanboy specs and see what you're really paying for. You can have a friends list for free. You can use the messenger for free, and have free voice chat over XBL (I've done it many times as a cheap alternative to a phone call). ...

Being an owner of all 3 systems, I have to carefully choose which games will get my money (I'm not rich in any way) during a certain period. And in this period, sorry, Bioshock gets my money. This game looks like too much of a mixed bag, Bioshock is by all accounts a real deal AAA title. And don't even ask me to choose between Heavenly Sword and Halo 3, we all know who's going to win there. I played the HS demo, and while it's quite good, it's just no Ninja Gaiden Sigma, not even DMC3, a last...

Seems like Sony is finally getting back on the saddle. Great to see them showing the same initiative they showed during the PSX days with new IPs and attracting 3rd parties with interesting technology that opens up unique avenues for developers eager to test new ideas and innovations. I was worried that Sony were happy ti sit on their laurels and simply run off the remaining momentum following the PS2's success, but they really seem to be back in the driver's seat as of late, especially after...

EA Chicago + Marvel = possibly the greatest game to feature Marvel characters since Marvel vs. Capcom. Hell fudging yes. Hope they go for a realistic approach too, with character models as superbly designed as those in Fight Night and Def Jam. I hope the combat mechanics are as balanced and long lasting as Fight Night's, just with far greater variation and a larger scope.
