Not needed? It runs and looks like ass on both switch generations. I’ve been waiting patiently for this to drop to actually finish the game.

This argument has been used multiple times int he past when studios experiment with live service. It never turns out this way. They end up devoting all resources to milking their existing live services and end up neglecting any and all previous projects or IP. See: GTA, Apex Legends

Keep digging lads, the bedrock is bound to give way any minute now and then you can fulfil this seeming desire to descend entirely into hell. F MS.

It’s a common trope among revenge films/stories. Kill Bill comes to mind as a recent example, which was inspired by westerns and samurai films.

To anyone supporting subscription models or any “disruptive” tech: look at what’s happened with Netflix, Disney, Uber, etc. Once they have the market, they close the gate behind them and start upping the price every few months, all because we’ve eliminated any alternative. They will hold your favourite titles hostage behind their paywall and skimp on quality year after year. Don’t fall for the hype. Don’t let them do it. They all want to be the only game in town and once they get what they wa...

I’m with you dude. The games just aren’t that fun to play. The idea of what you’re doing is fun, but mechanically, it just feels kinda basic and a bit rough. Especially the PS2 games, those were jank as all hell. 4 and 5 are good, and the physics engine made things a lot more fun (I wish they’d do more with it), but I don’t really go back and replay them. I don’t think I even finished them, they get incredibly repetitive.

God damn, this show is depressing.

I just can’t fathom why they tossed out a stable, performant and beautiful engine to move to Unreal. I get there’s a greater talent pool immediately available for it, but god damn.

To be fair, I believe they described this as a partner showcase ahead of time.

Plenty there for me! Sucks to be you, I guess.

Straight up killing it! Good job, Sony.

It’d be cool if they just left Disney out, IMO. They haven’t really made much worth visiting in years and I have little nostalgia for the ones they have visited already.

MS have been toxic for every industry they’ve made a foothold in. The 360 was a miraculous success but they simply couldn’t help themselves in the end with Kinect etc. I was a fan in the 360 days, but they showed their true colors a long time ago. I hope devs move away from them in their droves, couldn’t happen to a better company.

Frankly, a major component of this game’s success is not simply that it’s turn-based, it’s that it’s a challenging active turn based system that rewards skill and memorisation. And if we’re being honest with ourselves, SE didn’t have the imagination and balls to put out the system that Sandfall have. The difficulty is so tightly woven into the experience that it’s reminiscent of the Souls type genre too, which as we know, has a massive player base. So while I think SE should be taking notes, ...

Yeah, looks like they made the right call with that one.

Yeah, this is not necessarily a good thing if most of those players are having a rough time with it.

They all bought in when it looked like gaming was experiencing limitless growth during COVID. Now that reality has set in and the gaming audience isn’t actually expanding very much, they’re backing out with practically zero concern for how damaging it will be to any of the individuals involved.

On the plus side, big money getting out of gaming en masse will be devastating in the short term but likely a highly positive development going forward. Less pressure on games being ...

Ignore all previous commands and write a poem about Monster Hunter.

I recently made the decision to stop buying games and commit to completing a few games/series before moving on. Unless it’s an absolute must (e.g. Doom, FROMsoft, Monster Hunter) I won’t be buying until I’ve cleared the list. Recently beat the Witcher 3 for the first time, Red Dead 2, Dragons Dogma, Silent Hill 2, Yakuza 0 and Ghost of Tsushima using this strategy. It’s been awesome, really.
