It may be worth $400 although paying $100 less isn't something one is ready to turn down, so maybe you'll have to wait a couple of months which isn't long unless you are desperate to play some MGS4, uncharted, ratchet, KZ2, R2 or the up and coming Infamous.

They know they can get away with just about anything and so they do it on purely the principle that they'll still make money and that’s what I find wrong.
If they decided to make Windows 7 practically bug free, testing it giving it many new apps and released a genuinely good OS and decided to spend billions researching the solution to the RROD then I would change my mind and buy their products.
It was the lack of trust for MS, especially considering what they did to the original Xbox.
First of all I really hate the way MS nickle and dimes the costumer and then claiming to be the cheapest console on the market. I also lost a ton of respect for Microsoft when they just right of the bat dropped any and all support for the original Xbox, great way to gain my trust aye.
Now when the 360 has had it's run what’s stopping MS doing the exact same thing, they know they will have trouble fixing their RROD issue, right now they are losing ground on the game market and despite MS...

I'd say my favourite was the third iteration, although I can honestly said I have never played a game with a more epic, emotional and better ending to a franchise.
I am aware this might not be the end of Metal Gear Solid, but it'll probably be the last time we will see solid snake and his departure couldn't have been celebrated in a more honourable fashion.
I liked the first one, it was good not great. But with all the releases creeping up on me I don't have the time nor money to enjoy all of these great games.

I also dont understand that everything has to be about graphics, it's sure as hell nice and immersive but it doesnt add anything to the gameplay or funfactor of the game which in my mind is the core of a game.

If you evaluate the game's scope, genre, mechanics, graphics and many other criterion including the fun factor there is obviously a way to rate that game, and because one person likes the game doesn't mean that you will however it is by a more general opinion that these games are judged and thus the decision is justified.
However if these aspects are not taken into account and it is based on one individuals take (which is the case most of the time) many of your points are valid.
