When I started playing PS3 games I never even cared to see how many I had, but not too long ago I did and then it started because I could compare with my friends and to see that I had less than one of my friends then my competetive nature kcked in and I was hooked. I have played both for an extensive amount of time and I am qualified to give my opinion (you are not coz you haven't played both). My opinion is that Demon Souls is the better game because it is just that little bit more rewarding, something your new to gaming mind can't comprehend because...
1. Demon souls didn't ship to Europe (yet)
2. No advertising for the titles.
3. Not that many title's printed.
4. It's a niché title, in effect purely for the harcore.
5. Sales don't define quality.
Heavy Rain, MAG, GoW III, GT5, White Knight Chronicles, Yakuza 3 hopefully (western release), ModNationRacer, The Last Guardian, The Agency, Quantum Theory.
Those are the one's confirmed for 2010 whereas Fable 3 and Gears 2 haven't.

The PS3 has on average sold more per year but the 360 has sold more overall, so in essence the PS3 has been in the lead for quite a while from that logic.
Well what about the totally stupidly overpriced items in Home? I'd say on that front both are equally intent on snatching some cash from the consumer.
