During the x360 and ps3 time, ps3 got loads of incremental updates. I'm not sure if any made a huge difference to me. They must have I guess.
The thing with MS and their updates, especially the big updates on 360, you could easily spot what was new and different. Whether they be for the better or not.

I've had a few friends tell me not to go onto n4g, because they gave up on it. They were banned for literally nothing. I was told by one mate, he was banned for agreeing with a post, nothing else, but was banned because the SDF as he put it, voted him down.
I've seen little bits of this in my short time on n4g, hopefully cooler heads will prevail.
I'm not usually up for remakes, however Outcast was a game that couldn't be fully appreciated by the majority of hardware at the time. Hopefully with the power of modern gpu's this could be just what the doctor ordered. Truly awesome game for the day.

Speeds are generally very good in the launch regions.
As for quality, if people are trying to say their connection drops like every 5 seconds, then they are totally lying.

The PC usually is. They can render at highest possible for pc, then reduce the assets to suit ps4 and xb1.
You need to take into account that the software tools are on pc!

Too many true classics of their time get remade. People have such high hopes because of how they remember them. But it was then, what was good on the limitations of the systems at the time. We get the reboots and people get their hopes dashed, because gameplay has evolved and moved on.
Leave old games in the past. Remember them for what they were. Look forward to new challenges ahead.
