@Fanboi Well if being a "Real Gamer" means wasting a hell of a lot of money on upgrades just to play the latest game, I'd rather be a errr....a "fake gamer" and spend my money on better things like my mortgage, my car, going out, clothes.....or just about anything else!
Totally agree with you man. Just played the Live08 demo and I wasn't impressed. The players are still a little stiff compared to 2k's basketball games. Just sold my copy of 2k7 in anticipation for this. Can't wait!
But here's the thing, people with the Wii that I know have also said that they don't care about the online gaming or the live marketplace or DVD playback as they just want a cheap games console and nothing more. Those are also features they never asked for. Hence they bought a Wii instead of the 360. I think the 360 is inbetween the barebones Wii and the feature packed PS3.

Well look, is it a games machine? Errr.....yes it plays PS3,PS2 and PS1 games.
Is it a Blu-ray player? Yep, it plays Blu-ray movies at maximum resolution and sometimes with 7.1 surround sound.

Agree with Dax. You must be rich or crazy (probably both :)) to keep up with PC gaming at it's highest level. Never doing PC gaming again, I'm strictly consoles this time round!

@okcomputer in under normal circumstances, I'd have to agree with you....
...but dropping the price after just 2 MONTHS is really taking the piss I think. Imagine if Microsoft did that with the 360 or if Sony did that with the PS3. I reckon 2 months is too soon to lower the price and expect even the early adopters to be happy about it.

Hmmm... I may actually think about doing that. My friend has linux installed on his PC and is using it fine with a mouse and keyboard set-up. In fact, he's customised his linux interface so much it looks EXACTLY and works like XP. My PC is bloody OLD: P4 3.06 GHz 768mb Ram, Geforce 6600 GT, 80gb harddrive. I never liked off road games. Two games changed my mind, rallying in GT3 and this :) Great game, but still haven't finished it. It does get bloody hard at the end. If FFVII was ever remade on the PS3, you can bet your kidney PS3 sales in at least Japan would spiral out of control since according to Famitsu, a LOT of FF fans in Japan would want it.

Just thought I'd say something about FFXIII. Obviously no-one knows whether this will become multi-platform, but one thing to think about: I've got a gut feeling that FFXIII is going to be massive in terms of data, I'd wager even more so than Blue Dragon which was on 3 dvd's. So if they decide to port it, I wonder how many disks it'll be? Now of course, people may say swapping dvd's isn't that bad which is fair enough, but how many are we talking about? I agree with TheMart on SC:Conviction, i'll be VERY surprised to see that come to the PS3 because MS must've paid for that. In regards to FFXIII, I think that all hinges on whether the JRPG's already on the Xbox360 sell well, we'll have to see. No point in having a large install base if not many people is buying your game.

Star Ocean 3 had one of the best (and unusual) storylines ever. Really, if you haven't heard about the twist in SO3's story, you really should play it, it's brilliant! I like the battles system as well.
