This announcement could never please everyone. For example, I never played Medevil. Rival Schools was brilliant however though I bought Eternal Champions (and the sequel on the Mega-CD) on the days they came out, most of my friends have never heard of them!
Good news, not enough rts on consoles, I could get into this! I heard great things about the original but never got round to it.
Now if some studio could go and develop a PROPER Syndicate sequel instead of that fps dreary abomination which was announced I would be VERY happy...
Xenogears was godly!! Xenosaga 1 and Chrono Cross & Trigger are a close second!
I'd take out Elder Scrolls Oblivion out of that list, only because the main quest was boring and predictable as hell. I bought the game of the year edition, took me a year to finish all of the add on packs, and though I liked exploring, I'm into epic stories...which is why I'm not sure about purchasing Skyrim.
I'd recommend Eternal Sonata as a replacement. Playing through Resonance of Fate now, we'll see how that fares...
You're good Megaman_nerd as I couldn't even bring myself to buy FFX-2 because of the campiness/cheesiness! In fact, that and Final Fantasy 14 are the only FF's I haven't played.
Agree with Biggest. Cloud was withdrawn, cold hearted and generally unsociable most of the time. Those characters that LiquifiedArt mentioned are NOTHING like that. Closet fit to Cloud I think would be Squall. I personally think that there reason there is so much love for Cloud is he wasn't the usual 'happy go lucky' character looking for adventure you got usually in an JRPG.
Totally and utterly agree with you! Not to mention that I'd rather waste the battery life on my dedicated handheld than my smartphone.

They've looked at Cod's business model: rehash graphical assets, add a few new maps, maybe a weapon here and there and a few perks and release on an annual basis. You can tell Square Enix would love that model as you spend less developing anything actually new and gain profit. They're probably surprised it works (shit, I know I am!)

People may want state of the art graphics, but let's be real, many do not want to spend a lot of money to have it....or everyone would have top graphical spec PC's in their household, which they don't. (I know I certainly don't)
