Yeah, fortunately, they have internet, and proxies etc. People who want to get certain games, probably can. I just hope that the people that do look outside the Chinese borders, and realize their government is talking lots of BS is as large as humanly possible.
I'm pretty sure it's ALL culture. Just because you're a gamer, and mainly read gamer news does not mean it's just games that are being prohibited or censored....
Ooh, that's really cool! Might open my WAR CE box I have had sitting around for ages =)
Bloody hell. It's so ironic that such a mundane thing as videogame rules really opens up the eyes of westerners (well, gamers at least) on what type of country China really is!
Even though we replace all atoms in our bodies over a period of years, we still retain thoughts and personality (to some degree, anyway, we all change). Atoms are not the be all and end all ;)
Well, eventually there will be an end all, when all atoms have disintegrated, but that's a very long time away, isn't it?
Hehe, yeah, that's likely =)
Hm, some very good points there. When the water (players) recedes, the Mansion (WoW) will be abandoned ;)
She isn't the main character, but a very important character in the story line. The game is like any RPG, so you are the anonymous hero. she is a character shown in the intro cinematics (which are pretty darn good, by the way, even if Flagship outsourced them).
That art is no porn either, it's the official collaboration with Playboy for sexy game heroines, as they did a couple of.
What, you bought the Asian version, did you? =)
Very constructive...
Well, look at Korea.
Every bloody one of those Bangs (gaming cafes, but different) have LAN games of SC1. I suppose they are one of the worlds best connected nations by now, so Battle.net might work just as well there, but still. It's neglecting one's past!
It's the one reason I still play Heroes of Might & Magic 3, and even bought a multi-box with game + expansions a few months back. sure, that game doesn't even have anything like Battle.net, but I'm mostly interested in playing in the same room as my mates anyway.
I mean, LAN play is what makes a game survive longer than the release week. Well, not really that harsh, but makes them continue their legacy for ever and ever....
Well possible reasons for not including LAN would be:
- Stop piracy
- Get more money from the ads on Battle.net
There really are no other plausible reasons. I think that the player enjoyment of having LAN play would weigh up for the minimal money "loss" from having LAN, and the possible piracy. I mean the new Battle.net will be awesome, so people will only play LAN when they have no internet.
I don't think this is a "deal-breaker" for many fans, but on the other hand, I think many fans will be sorely disappointed if they no longer can hook up with their friends to play the latest version of StarCraft...
Family friendly MMO, I'd count WoW as one =)
As if the previous boss video wouldn't? =)
The way it was meant to be. No pug raids! =)
Well, since I'm, not exactly in a high-end raiding guild any more, I don't think that is an issue! =)
Hehe, Blizzard is inventive when it comes to bosses, there is no arguing that!
It's definitely a breath of fresh air to play a little once in a while over the WoW main char. This is also why I hope WAR will gain a bit in size, and be a permanent mark on the MMO market. It just brings diversity to the genre!
