If people can differentiate "iPhone 7" versus "iPhone 7S" then this shouldn't be too much of a problem.
MS knows that Digital Foundry will be counting the pixels with every release. So why on earth would they lie about it. DF and the media as a whole is going to call them out for it. I don't know about you, but I don't think MS or Phil is that stupid.
@2pacalypsenow
You do know that consoles haven't prioritized frame rate; but visuals, for the past 4 generations right?
I think they aren't trying to promote because they won't be making games for VR. But games for mixed reality.
Neither. It's not a comeback and it's not another Pro.
Same people talking about it's too expensive are bragging about having $1500 PCs.
I mean, if someone wants their Switch to catch on fire this will be a good game to do it with. lol
Something smells here. Shadow of War is native 4K and has comparable graphics next to AC:Origins. Doesn't bother me though. Day one.
Japanese fighting games are already really popular on Xbox. And FFXV is the fastest selling FF on Xbox. It's not about where the game comes from for Xbox gamers. It's about how it plays.
Me. And for anybody who wants a console to fully take advantage of their 4k screens.
Games always start to pick up in the graphics department during the second half of each gen. Look at the beginning of last gen and then look at GTA V.
Neither company gets anything out of this. The consumers get something out of it. You don't seem to know much about servers either. PS gamers aren't leaving PSN servers and filling into Xbox Live. Both fanbases are in their own networks. They're just sharing the same world.
"Maybe
That doesn't mean it would have made a difference. These decisions are made by full boards, not just 1 man."
It does make a difference. At the end of the day, what's done is going to down to the head of xbox and the head of MS. No matter what the board says, they are not the authority. They are just giving suggestions, solutions, and ideas.
Nintendo and Sony have a little bad blood.
In the PS3 days, Phil Spencer wasn't the head of Xbox.
While Xbox is lacking exclusives. It gets increasingly hard to take the "exclusives, exclusives, exclusives" chant seriously. A couple years ago, the comment sections on comparison videos went into the hundreds, and PS exclusives comment sections were in the teens. No one was talking about exclusives. The media and Sony alike were talking about 3rd party superiority. Now that the Xbox has a leg up, it's doomed because the narrative has changed.
"Average Joe wants EXCLUSIVE games, not multiplats."
Not defending MS' lack of exclusives, but the "average joe" doesn't even know the game they are buying is exclusive to their respective console.
People just mention 4K. Yet forget to mention it will have 4K AND better graphics, fx, antialiasing, etc.
When games are not yet ready to run on console they're run on PC. This is a common practice. Sony, MS, EA, Ubi, etc, all do it.
I'm trying to figure out how Shadow of War can hit native 4K, yet this game can't. Then again, Shadow of War is an Xbox Play Anywhere title and utilizing UWP. AC:Origins isn't.
