"Just as a game cannot be both simple and complex"
A game can most definitely be both simple and complex. Easy, accessible controls are on the surface of some games. But to master those controls and different gameplay mechanics is another story entirely. Sure anyone can play Halo at the base level. Point, shoot, and keep moving. But to utilize pointing, shooting, and moving while taking into account the usage of power weapons/map control is when things start to ge...
Don't mind sexual streamers at all as long as they know how to play games at an average to above average level.
MTs started on PC. Just so you know.
They weren't the driving force at the beginning of the gen though. Which comment sections were the most populated? Resolution articles.
People chase brands in every market and in all forms of entertainment. iPhone, Nike, McDonalds, etc.
That's the point I'm making. I'm not short changing anything. Yes PS dropped great games in order to get to that point. So if PS were to drop their next console with no games, and less powerful hardware, they'd still outsell the Xbox. At this point, people instinctually buy PS. Games or not. Just like the iPhone.

Ok? MS charged first. That doesn't mean Sony had to follow them. Sony made that decision. No one pointed a gun at their heads.
Xbox could release next gen with better, higher rated exclusives and a more powerful machine and still get outsold by PS. PS is the iPhone of the gaming. It doesn't have to be the most powerful. It doesn't have to have the most or the best games. People are going to buy it simply because it's a PS.
MS cares more about the tech behind games than the actual games. It's why they invest so much in APIs and Xbox Live.
"They almost never talk about the games anymore, except to tout how the multi-plats will be so much better on X1X."
Funny I remember the same talks from the PS side at launch. It's why I don't take N4G or any fanboys in general seriously. They're gung ho for whatever their favorite console has the advantage in,.
So MS made Sony charge for online? I'm confused. I thought Sony was a seperate company that made it's decisions independent of MS.
"a boss that doesn’t care about single player games"
When's the last time MS was committed to single player games in the first place? Single player went out the window for Xbox when Halo 2 released.
And the fact that you can't scractch or break a digital file. Nor do you have to switch discs whenever you want to play a different game.
I don't see discs or disc drives going away any time soon. But I can see them being the least popular option with digital downloads taking the lion's share of game purchases.
Anybody who thinks microtransactions are just going to go away are being unrealistic. There needs to be a middle ground between the consumers and the developers about where microstransactions are appropriate, and where they aren't.
For those who are more informed about the gaming industry, yes. But that is a minority of gamers. Most gamers either don't care or don't know what's even going on.
No. Never have been. Just because they make less money than multiplayer doesn't mean that they don't make a lot of money and that there's still a market for them.
@LP-Eleven
Then explain iPhones. They aren't the most powerful phones on the market. Nor do they have any features/apps that other phones don't have.
@LP-Eleven
PS is 'battering' Xbox because its initial reveal and the fact that PS is a much bigger name worldwide. Exclusives haven't been a huge reason for multiple machines since the 90s. Of course there are some big excluisves on every platform. But it's nothing like it used to be. Pretty obvious when you look at how similar each console's game list is. The exclusive argument is tired because PC has waaaay more exclusives than both consoles yet someho...
