I should have read yours first before I posted mine. You said it much more succinctly.
First off, don't lump a vocal minority to a group of people. We're not all like that. I have all of the consoles, and I happen to enjoy my Sony consoles the best. Does it mean I hate my other consoles? Heck no! I wouldn't have bought them if I hated them.

First off, I've never spent money in a game to get better stuff.
Having said that, I think it's small-minded to refer to people who do purchase upgrades in games as "douchbags." Sure, I can agree that it devalues the item, but if it's an option in the game, then it's okay to do. Hacking games to make yourself powerful? That's a douchbag. ;)
Unless this site wrote the same article for Tomb Raider, then there's an agenda here.
Furthermore, Tomb Raider was on multiple consoles, so everyone had a chance to play it. For people who only owned the Xbox 360 but decided to get the PS4, this will be their first opportunity to experience the Last of Us.

@ Logic - the only reason people compare it to Infamous is because of the grinding. In Infamous 1 and 2, there was lots of grinding, and an open world. I can see the leap. Infamous was the first thing I thought of when seeing the trailer.
As with most Insomniac games, I'll wait for the quick price drop and snag it a month or 2 later when it's $20 bucks off. Or wait until Black Friday, when it actually IS $20.

I hope it's not just a talking point to get people riled up about the game, and that it's something mature and interesting, and perhaps even something that would move video games in an interesting direction. Otherwise, it doesn't matter, and this kind of announcement is lame.
The funny thing is, I bought it on PS3 and want to buy it again on PS4. In a way, I envy you that you will get to experience this game soon, for the first time. It's the most powerful thing I've ever played.
There is also the large group of people who never had a PS3, but now have a PS4, and will get to experience it for the first time in the best possible package.

Not saying the serious couldn't use something new, but did you play 6? I thought it was good fun, and the story was better than I thought it should be. Especially Chris' story.

And in Mochachino's defense, he didn't just bash the 360 (because he doesn't want to pay for Live). He also based the PS3 (because of the controller.

I agree. You have to cater to the fans. If you change it too much, then the fans of the original will get upset.
If you want something new, try a new game. If you want more Infamous (super powers in an open world), they give you more Infamous.
Gereralizations are wrong no matter who gives them. It's wrong to say that all blacks are violent. However, it's also wrong to label all Americans (or any other culture) as being unwelcoming (or racist).
Individual people can be extremely racist. Just because that one person goes to a certain school, or is from a certain country, doesn't mean that person is the representation for that entire pool of people.
Really? I kind of enjoyed the open sea in the last game. Just kind of relaxing and sailing around the map, discovering treasure, and so on.
I know it's not for everyone, but as someone who has played and beat all of the Assassin's Creeds (even the Vita version!), I enjoyed the change of pace.
