Possably... but it is Sony's option to restrict users to their online service.

None of these bans will effect the PS3 from being used offline. And ultimately none of these bans can prevent circumvention of the system to allow it back on the system. (to inevitably be dealt with again?) It is an endless cycle where the real gamers are the loosers because they have to deal with the endless security updates coming down the line.

I would beg to guess that those that pirate software could care less about what others think of them, thus not really caring what their trophy case looks like.

And for those few that do care, well I heard it was pretty easy for them to earn those trophies back the pirate way.

It is all a stupid little game anyways. Due to the root crack, the only way to even try to cope with the issue is for continuous updates to the PS3. Sorry fans... the poor security ...

Actually what they are attempting to do is scare tactics. Ultimately they have very little capabilities to catch those using pirated material. Unfortunately the method of pirating games in this instance are at the root level.

Obviously you didn't see that he prefers Sony games. Not sure those MS games would sit well with him.

I have a few PCs in my home now (many family members) But the console experience is still much better for a family then the PC. My daughter doesn't have to know how to upgrade their PC system to make sure it runs properly. too many different formats in the PC world for a game to run smoothly on every one of them. their is always some tweek that needs to be found to...

I like how people hark on the fact that the PC is the thing because you can just keep buying more and more parts to upgrade it and play on. And what are you really doing...? In the 5 ~ 6 years of an average console life I would have spent much more on my PC upgrading the memory, new graphics card (every year!) and getting that new internal bluray player. On and on and on... it is never ending with the PC. One of the biggest nickle and dime devices out there.

PC is not one format... think of Apple versus HP to start. Think that each PC is it's own console basically. Some video cards are better then others. Tthe large majority of the arguement will then change from which is the better graphics card or CPU to program directly for. You see specs on PC boxes that say what a system needs as a minimum. And for many people their system no longer stacks up. They have to buy new hardware just to play games these days compared to before.

@close second

You do realise that competition is the only thing that breeds a better product. If it wasn't for competition then we might still be playing our old nintendo familycom, or a bastardized Atari product.

Games today would not be as good as they are if the the consoles did not need to improve due o direct competition. Can you imaging that we would all be still playing the PS2 if MS did not take over for competition when Sega dropped out? Thin...

I never get tired of hearing people talking about running by combat and then complaining the game only runs at about 22hrs.

I finished the first chapter with 30hrs under my belt. Defeating the enemies actually gives you the ability to loot their bodies for more weapons and items. You get nice larger chunks of XP for defeating certain types of enemies.

just half way through chapter 2 I am looking forward to finishing the game. (and not just running throug...

Previous article was much better. This article could almost be a minimalized rip off of the previous article. When searching for duplicate stories make sure you search all and not just news or whatever you seem to be posting a story under. (this is not really news per say)

The issue I had with the review was the following remark "...it could easily be said that one of MindJack’s redeeming features is that it’s ambitious and trying something new." Trying something new? What is new about this concept? I can name two VERY good games that follow the same premise first being Messiah from Shiny http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... second being Omikron: The Nomad Soul

Ha... and then I read mynd reply under everything.

But this would only be the case if you had to recover you gamertag from online. If you still had the gamertag profile on memory card (which I do) then it would not have needed to be online for you to still see your own achievments. Once again though, your gamerscore would NOT have reflected the same. You would have had to get those back new too, as they would not have saved to your online profile.

No need to back anything up. If you get achievments with your gametag then you can't get them again. They are locked to that gamertag. My only thoughts are that you possibly were not signed into your gamertag when initially playing? I have many times realized that my daughter had been logged into my 360 and I was using her login when playing, lucky for her she got some achievment points out of it. Me... I had to play the game over because I didn't have a save under my login.

I am assuming that the first time you played portal it was on your PS3? Achievments follow your gamertag and you do not loose them.

As for the guy loosing his DemonSouls trophies... if that is true that would suck! You sure it wasn't a different login you had your previous trophies?

Anyone else notice the link gives you a Network Error? What is up with these sites that seem to not work after the first few days?

EDIT: What he said (kancerkid)

@Seraphhimblade
Mass Effect 2 achievements actually award you for playing the game (multiple times even). Yes most could be played with one play through but you can actually accomplish them. As for the suicide mission... if your Paragom or Renegade isn't high enough to keep your loy...

@dunebuggy

I think he might have been trying to prove a point with that remark.

And to this article... I had to stop reading it once I read this part "This is the kind of crap I would expect from the likes of the Daily Mail, but not a well respected media giant like Fox." Well respected media giant...???!!!! Media giant maybe... but about as well respected as Al Jazeera.

What source do you have that shows the account was hacked? Not difficult to hack??? You must think hacking systems is like playing video games... just do it enough and you become good? Think again...

The premis behind the issue is that he didn't even realize he was sending it due to a lack of knowledge and basically being pawned by another twitterer.

Bioshock felt very linear to me. Seemed like I was going from point A to point B for the most part. And definetly was not open world.

Borderlands is an excellent example of non-linear that was fun. I would possibly add Operation Flashpoint on the list as non-linear as you could choose which areas to attack and when. Though it was scripted in some aspects.

Original Doom as an example of non-linear? Don't know about that??? I was basically locked in ro...

If it actually was the security key and it was supplied to the internet via a Sony source then it has made their lawsuit a mute point.

Their lawsuit requests that the source be retrieved and they go and do this...? Not good strategy.

Judge in this case... suit dismissed.
