For those wondering why we can't use the mic on the GamePad: it probably has something to do with the massive amounts of data already being sent via the GamePad. Adding voice on top of gameplay information probably just isn't possible without an external device to handle it or potentially adding some latency issues.
(This shouldn't really be a problem if you're just using the GamePad like a Pro Controller though. There should really be an option to disable th...
Yeah, if these things work with Virtual Console games they might just get my vote. Already tempting for the price.
I'll probably wait to see the product reviews... but I like the gold and Super Famicom styled ones. I'd prefer to just see "official" versions of these stylings though. I prefer the official button configuration a bit better than what I'm seeing here.
But Vita's breaking records in Japan!
I very much doubt a modern PC is optimized to use the GamePad without latency.
This is what "hardcore gamers" said about PC vs. NES.
I assume they're waiting to fully finalize things like the look and feel, what content they actually want to show in whatever demo presentation they cook up, etc.
"And how do you explain the 360 rebate of 50 bucks on all models then?"
Also Wii U.
Apart from Vita's painfully slow start, Sony's gaming division is doing pretty decently (PS3 in particular is very healthy for a console coming up on its 7th year), but Sony as a whole is actually literally in a red zone - they're seeing massive net losses and lost over 10% of their total cash assets last year.
I don't know what they'll do to repair this, but I think it's going to have to involve getting rid of products (3DTV) and downsizing department...
This is actually pretty subdued compared to my complaints about Nintendo.
CoD on a handheld is awesome in theory, but when it's completely split off from the main multiplayer install base, I'm not sure it's in the right place to succeed. If they could make one that was fully compatible with the console games, however...
(unless it's actually been compatible this whole time... nothing I've read has suggested as much)
I don't "know," but I do know that when PSP tried to be a portable PS2 and DS/3DS tried to be portable N64s (plus PS2 in the case of 3DS), they struggled to gain solid traction. They had to do something to differentiate themselves first - PSP by getting an entire franchise exclusive to the system (Monster Hunter), DS by being a haven for "classic" style games.
3DS I'm still a bit concerned about because the next round of games looks a lot like port...
Nomura doesn't have to do work on more than one platform if they're outsourcing the port.
I want to play FFVXIII. I do not want to buy a PS3.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix. It's the best fit for Wii U out the gate. Calling it.
To be fair, even my comments about what I think Sony's case might be were just a layman's speculation. Since obviously the Bridgestone commercial isn't intentionally using the Kevin Butler character, I can't see any other reason why Sony would take action unless they're simply moving to protect their copyright in the general sense (this helps you in future cases where actual infringement might exist). It could be that Sony just feels like engaging in some legal trolling. I...
They haven't confirmed that games will be account-based yet.
Oh god. That's a terrific idea.
I still get Game Overs in the old Mario games.
Except for that part where it reads: "Foxconn is well known for their shady business practices and terrible working conditions, yet major corporations like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and Apple continue to give them their business."
