I really don't know how well this is going to work out. Microsoft has to make this thing bloody cheap. Everyone knows that they've been raping their customers over the prices of things like hard drives and network adapters.
Unless this device is truly revolutionary I see it dying in a hurry. Nobody wants to purchase one console for the price of two.
Most games are either subscription or pay per item. Blizzard wants it all.
Actually I believe the term for what they're using here is not normal maps but actually displacement maps. It's a map texture which protrudes from the surface rather than simply providing embossing.

I actually like the layout of the site. It's clean. You know where to look for information and are not inundated with ads. I'd actually prefer if more sites looked like that instead of trying to bombard me with ads, shockwave, java apps and what not that end up making the site take longer to load.
What I'd really like to see is a set of screen shots showing off the dynamic day/night cycle. So much has been said about it and yet the only thing I've seen from the game lately are all afternoon screen shots of the Tokyo track which happen to be taken at the same time of day as they were in GT3.
... and if my story requires that she does the cable guy then so be it!
It's quite possible that the reviewer does not receive review copies of games. Usually when that is the case, one tends to only pick up games that look good or are worth playing.
Just because I work for GE doesn't mean I have to buy their light bulbs. ;)
They didn't say it was perfect, but they said it was the best game they've played. I can't wait for it to come out. It's going to keep me busy for a few years. :)
I hope Bioware does make it for the PS3. Mass Effect is a great game and I don't think people should not get to play games (especially 3rd party) simply because of their console choice.
