@Zuperman
...haha, ok kid, whatever you say.
Zuperman- "Why would I purchase a console that's destine for failure"
Huh? Did you miss the point of my comment or did you just automatically assume what I was going to say just like you're assuming about the next xbox?
I never asked you why you have decided to not purchase the next xbox...
Then I suppose you should have no business visiting or commenting in any further xbox 720-related articles then, right?
I find it very fishy that n4g mods let those rumors about the dmr, always online, or 'insert negative thing about 720' pass them, even when a ton of those rumors were originated from sources that were simply called 'sources' with no given name or any credentials--and many of them came from vgleaks!
And now we have some positive rumors about the next xbox 720 and the n4g mods are failing them.... very odd.
alright, well...I'll hold you to that, especially the ones about blocked games and this 'always online' requirement to play games.
when ms announces their next xbox, we'll meet again.
assuming all the rumors are true....
I think I've seen about a million of these articles now..
Well...duh.
@igam3r
the employee was merely expressing his opinion.
and always online could mean anything. most likely, it's something akin to sony's sleep mode or never again having to sit through "connecting to xbox live" again because it always remains connected to xbox live even when you turn it off.
you can hold me to my word. I am 100% confident that the always online requirement is false and ms has nothing like it planned.
...
what are you talking about?
ms has a good deal for xbox owners and you manage to turn it into something negative??
ok...so 18 people who disagreed with me believe that one employee = employees.
I see what this community is turning into...
"Your employees are defending the always online thing .."
correction: one employee.
edit: for those who disagreed with me, is my statement incorrect or are you just disagreeing with me for the heck of it?
don't know why you got two disagrees for what you said, but 1600 ms points sounds pretty good too.
I've given up trying to convince reason with internet folks.
Apparently, rumors = truth, opinion = truth, apology without confirmation = makes it worse.
People just don't respond to reason anymore.
why??
because of rumors and someone's opinion who was probably just poking fun at a rumor on his blog?
It isn't even an official idea yet.
All we have are just rumors, much of them contradictory, and the opinion of one ms employee about the idea of something akin to always-online--and we don't even know what that means.
For all we know, ms maybe have something akin to sony's ps4's sleep mode and the ability to maintain connection to xbox live at all times.
Right...then it says that some of the sources don't know anything about this always-online connection. And then some of the sources say that this feature is for Microsoft to keep the devs updated with recent dev firmwares and to keep tabs on them.
And then we have that "always online, always connected" one...which could be interpreted in multiple ways. The most logical interpretation would be that this feature is probably optional and would allow the consumer to switch...
Well...these "sources," fake or real, are essentially split on the issue.
Some say they don't know anything about an always-online requirement and some say it's true. It could be just that the ones that are saying it's true don't realize that the feature is exclusive only for dev Durango kits to prevent its possibly restricted sharing or sale.
@ above
"Do you seriously expect all of their sources to all have the ...
Oh, man...how many articles formed from misinterpreted information are we going to see??
If you did carefully inspect those "leaked" documents, you would have realized that this always online thing applies to updating apps, games, etc. when it's turned off (the final version of the product in consumer hands) and that the devs that got Durango devkits required them to remain online for verification purposes (so they wouldn't sell it to the public...to avoid s...
It's great to see % increases in pretty much all of the divisions ms is invested in and I can definitely see why ms isn't in much of a rush for next-gen looking at their e&d division numbers.
