You do realize that if your TV set performs 3:2 pulldown properly it converts a film based 24fps 1080i HD disc signal back into a *perfect* 1080p signal, right? The only exception is if you have a TV capable of 120Hz.

Yes, if you look at *critics* scores for Wii games the average is less than PS3 and Xbox 360. If you look at user scores for Wii games, however, they're actually HIGHER than user scores for Xbox and PS3.

When are people going to learn that just because you CAN spend a fortune building a gaming PC doesn't mean you have to. You can drop a Radeon 3850 into any relatively modern PC for $180 and get a good (if not mind blowing) gaming experience.
PC gaming is more affordable and accessible than it has ever been before, and it still offers the best experience for many kinds of games.
I took a look at the top 10 best selling third party games for both the Wii and PS3. While both systems should ideally be doing better, the Wii games outsold their PS3 competition by over 22% and they're cheaper to develop.
Developers will make a profit on all three systems. Pretending otherwise is just sticking your head in the sand.
The PS3 currently has an attach rate of 4, the Wii 3.44. Extrapolate that to consoles sold and Wii games are outselling PS3 games by slightly over 2-to-1. That also includes first party sales, but at least according to VGChartz the Wii still has more million+ 3rd party sellers as well.
*Yawn* All this commotion over who sold a few more consoles this week is boring. It's not winner take all--if you outsell your competitor by thousands of consoles that's essentially meaningless. The PS2 got better games and more exclusives because it totally dominated the competition. Even accounting for the year's head start the 360 had the two consoles are still in a statistical dead heat.

What are you, 13? There was a rich history of gaming before Sony ever came on the scene. Before Sony came along Nintendo ruled everything, and before that Atari. A lot of other companies came and went along the way. Pay respect where respect is due, indeed.
Keep in mind you don't normally stand 2 feet in front of a set like you do in a store. If you sit further than 8' from a 40" set you can't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p--the human eye just isn't capable of resolving detail that low.

I love video games, and I've been playing for nearly 30 years. I've covered the entire spectrum from hard core to casual gamer in my life. But if you think playing any kind of game makes you "elite" you need a dose of reality in your life.
This is the reason I think the Wii Vouchers through Gamestop is a good idea. If people can buy a Wii at regular price (even if they have to wait 45 days) it may keep them from paying outrageous prices on eBay. If the profits aren't there, scalpers won't be as interested.
It was five years between the release of the original Xbox and the 360. *IF* Microsoft kept to that schedule, a new Xbox could be released in less than 3 years. The Xbox 720 will undoubtedly be far more powerful than the PS3 (as well it should--it would have 4 more years of technology development behind it). The PS3 really needs to get its act together if it hopes to compete with a next-next gen console.
There are ten third party PS3 games that have sold more than half a million copies, selling 7.26 million between them. There are eleven Wii third party games that have sold half a million plus, combining for 9.48 million copies.
