The Wii version of Guitar Hero III has already sold well over 1 million copies. I find it difficult to imagine Rock Band won't come to the Wii.
The Wiimote actually can be "sight aimed" pretty accurately if the game allows proper configuration. Ghost Squad allows you to calibrate your Wiimote to your TV and turn off the aiming reticle and it works pretty well.
That said I love Link's Crossbow Training. The aiming is not 1:1 but who cares? (the holy grail of FPS mouse + keyboard isn't 1:1 either) The targeting reticle works very well and the game is a lot of fun.
I know a lot of people are saying the North American numbers have been included now, but something doesn't look right. If you look at the two prior weeks, the 360 outsold the PS3 in NA by around 70%. We're supposed to believe that in one week's time the PS3 cut that gap by over half?

Wii games--even third party ones--are significantly outselling PS3 games (see my past posts for details if you don't believe me). As for crappy games, the Wii certainly has its share, but it also has more games that appeal to the casual gamer than any other system. If you don't believe casual gamers can support a system look at what has happened with the Nintendo DS.
Now that the actual totals are out do you suppose all the people who mistakenly assumed the figures in this story were complete ( http://n4g.com/NewsCom-9539... ) will admit they were wrong?

I'm not ready to concede the fact that 3rd party software won't sell on the Wii (it's significantly outselling PS3 third party software at the moment) but even if 3rd party sales aren't strong it doesn't mean the Wii will flop.

That's funny. While I remember a few idiot fanboys saying the Dreamcast would crush the PS2 (you always have some) most gamers seemed to buy into the Sony hype and think a victory was inevitable.

You didn't even mention the PS3 and 360 in your original post. You were comparing the entire 2007 Wii catalog against a list of ten 2008 releases. Drawing any conclusions based on that comparison is foolish.

Why would you expect that to happen? It's ridiculously easy to ramp up production of video games to meet demand and ship them out. It's also easy for retail establishments to store extra inventory.
The only reason you'd expect to see games out of stock would be for surprise hits, those that have non game access...
The Gameboy had a release price of $89 in 1989. Even accounting for inflation that's only about $150.
