I remember back in the days when VHS was the format of choice. DVD was introduced but expensive ( similar in price to Blu Ray films actually ). I bought a couple but refused, as most people did, to back it outright until the price was reduced. That eventually happened, VHS was fazed out, DVD became the norm.
The same cycle is happening now. Some Blu Ray films are extortionate, between 20 or 30 pound. Now I can get 3 for 30 odd quid at Play.com, 2 for 25 quid at Blockbuster, 2 for 2...
Already got my copy, its a fantastic example of how much better blu ray is than standard dvd. The quality is fantastic, an awesome showpiece and an excellent film as well. They need to put this onto 50" SONY t.v's in stores. It will convince people that this is the future.

Asda and other retailers have had a breakdown with their particular suppliers. I had this confirmed by Asda. Anyway, by the by. I have R2 and think its a solid, engaging single player game. I used to love NFS, the 3DO version wowed me. It was excellent for its time. But things evolve, as did NFS. It was good in the beginning but gradually went downhill. The FPS genre is now seeing new releases using everything learned from the best bits of games gone by to create a superb overall experience, COD4 for example. The racing genre is so hit and miss at the moment. There is no one outstanding game, or at least one that suits my tastes. Others may disagree, thats fine. I like the PGR...
I will probably get a few disagrees now but K2 will be fantastic. I'm not in the beta but the evidence is there for all to see.
Graphics = amazing
Gameplay = ? not entirely sure but from videos and feedback from people in beta, previews etc... sounds solid.
As a result of the above I have concluded that it will be a solid if not revolutionary fps with amazing graphics and sound. You know what, thats exactly what I hope it will be.

I bought a 360 soon after launch, I wasnt overly impressed by the launch games but then I bought Gears 1 and loved it. It was probably the best game i'd ever played, I loved the single player game, but more than that, the multiplayer kept me hooked for ages.

On another note, why do people rely so much on ratings, I have a few sites that I trust and the score they give is generally one I agree with having played the game. If im interested, i'll buy it. R2 getting 95 on one site and 70 on another is a joke to b...

You just cant win....you have a game like Far Cry 2 with gorgeous graphics, decent multiplayer ( loving the maps ) and a different approach to the more recent fps with the day/night cycle, open world etc... and people slag it off. When they see R2, K2, cod 4 / 5 they moan that they are too similar and they want something different. Far Cry 2 is class imo.
I bought Far Cry 2 and Dead Space today. Both are great so far.....then theres R2, COD:WAW, LBP, Mirrors Edge etc... what a time to be a gamer !!
I am always careful, I make sure first aid is on hand when conducting experiments with my chinchilla. She enjoys it anyway....she is a hardcore gamer although she does sometimes struggle with the ps3 pad, which reminds me.....does anyone know how to get carrot bits out of the base of the L3/R3 sticks ? Chinchilla vomit is a nightmare !!
I was hoping this game would get decent scores, I quite like the look of it. All depends on the handling though, I'll try before I buy. When are Rockstar doing the rumoured G.T.A. Bradford ? That city is full of gangsta's and would be brilliant, I would buy it.
Did OXM really give Dead Space a 6 ? Not that im bothered, i'll get it day 1 anyway. Ive read and seen all I need, that game is gonna rock !!! I dont trust official mags. Too many #$+* ups in the past, HALO etc... Fallout 3 ? will have to wait and see, not day 1 for me. I'll see how you all report first

1). Chinchilla watching GRID on PS3 = SEIZURE
2). Chinchilla watching PES 09 on PS3 = No seizure
3). Chinchilla watching Wip3out HD on PS3 = AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHHH !!!!!
4). Chinchilla during seizure accidentally fell onto my brothers x360, first became deafened so didnt hear my warning " WATCH OUT, THE POWER PACK, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.........
