Getting Bomberman, class. Cant wait to try Pro Evo too, thats the biggie for me. See how it holds up against Fifa this year. Konami have really been pushing the fact that it has improved dramatically. If they fix the problems, ie. online, replays etc... i'll be happy. Gonna be a tough decision this year, but if online is broken, its Fifa again for me.
I pre ordered this from play.com, should be here tomorrow. I was looking forward to it after reading a few reviews but now im not so sure. A few people on n4g have posted average - negative comments about it. I'll make up my own mind but its not looking good. Anyone here played it and liked it?
For people who have this game, do the cars slide around like dirt or is it worse / more realistic ? I need a comparison.
my copy should be here today from play hopefully, tomorrow at the latest. It got a 7 from g spot but other reviews are far more positive. Look on metacritic. It will keep me going till GT5 arrives, then all games but MW2 will be traded or locked away.
The difference is......the last nfs game looked crap before it was released. Reading previews and hands on of Shift, its all positive. Several of the team have experience in simulation games, I very much doubt it will be the same old nfs. There is no bull**** story to sit through for one. I personally dont like the direction nfs took after the superb 3do version. I would not be buying it if I thought it was going to be another rushed out arcade racer. GT is no.1 for me. I will buy Shift anyway, ive seen enough to convince me. Dirt 2 is a no go for me , hate the floaty cars gameplay. Shift does not look like any other NFS game, its a total redirection, if it were the same team then fine but its not.
Im sorry, Fifa of old may have played a floaty game of football but that criticism certainly cant be levelled at last years effort. Its the fact that PES has lost its edge and not progressed whereas FIFA has suddenly changed and now plays a superb game. FIFA for me again, the improvements like 360 degree dribbling/running sound gamechanging.
Only NFS Shift for me this month....oh, and finishing Batman. That will keep me going till FIFA 10.

GT5 will be absolutely brilliant, but you know people will always find a reason to slate it. They will point out tiny glitches, ommisions from gameplay / settings etc... but compared to other racers it will be leagues apart. It might as well be its own genre
Its fun to speculate but you know what, I for one really dont care who picks up the GOTY award. Im happy that there are so many contenders, shows just how strong this gen is. Ive pre - ordered MW2, Uncharted 2, GT5, NFS Shift, Fifa 10, Assassins Creed 2. Theres enough gaming there to last a whole year till next years speculation of who'll get GOTY 2010 !! I like to look at EDGE review scores because with every issue they cement my opinion that they are in fact IDIOTS !! I know that you shouldnt judge a game by a demo but Birds of Prey is broken as a flight sim / action game ( whatever they class it as ). It's the settings in this game that get me excited. It makes everything really modern and current. The fact that it has urban warfare in a place like RIO amongst others and airports filled with people going about their business makes it totally fresh for me. I thought the video looked great. I was so looking forward to this game as I love BF and Warhawk. I have only played one game so far but first impressions are that it is everything id hoped.
