The Elder Scrolls and Fallout fall under this umbrella too.

A lot of people aren't liking it. The streamers are. The casuals are hating it. If the casuals who's buy the skins don't like it, they won't stick around. This movement won't end up staying.

Open world games need a overhaul in general.

Go here - kill this target
Go here - fetch this
Clear this camp
Add dozens of filler side quests
Tack on a RPG skill tree
Finish up with a couple of hundred collectables

98 percent of open world games follow this game design and it's boring now after nearly a decade of following this same design.

Free to Play in 3... 2... 1...

Sony has so many established IPs from the past which had multiplayer portions that could be expanded upon but it seems the focus on nothing but SP games (which isn't a bad thing in the slightest) has them chasing MP trends.

Resistance, Killzone, Socom, TLOU Factions, Uncharted, Warhawk. These could be so easy to modernise but nope, they green light this travesty instead.

We need another PS2/PS3 era So...

WuKong is a great game. GOW was amazing. GOW: Ragnarok was more of the same and didn't WOW me nowhere as much as the first but still a great game. I wouldn't mind GOW taking a little break but Sony are having many misfires at the moment so another GOW would be a safe bet.

All that sounds great for the gamers who want more power. However if Sony lock frame generation and upscaling to the PS5 Pro, there should be uproar.

Upscalers are available on steam from £5 which makes potato PCs play games up to 4x higher frames. Upscalers and frame generation isn't hardware intensive so if they lock it behind a paid console upgrade, it would be pretty scummy.

I'm all for Sony being out multiplayer games alongside their single player games but they have to appeal to players. Use Socom, use Syphon Filter, use Warhawk, Resistance, The Last of Us, even Uncharted multiplayer was decent, as a blueprint then add features gamers come to expect from today's games.

Sony has made some great multiplayer games over the years but they refuse to use those IPs. Instead we get a canceled TLOU Factions 2 game alot of people were hyped for...

I thought we were passed this mentality. Bethesda for years got a free pass for making good RPGs but having terrible gameplay, graphics, voice acting, dated animations. Studios shouldn't be given a free pass because they make incredible open worlds but gameplay which is behind the rest of the industry as Great as some of Obsidians games have been in the past.

I have this game. I love to watch this game but the aiming mechanics on controller are terrible. I really hope that's addressed in this new version because this game is incredible and massively underrated

That's not the issue. Frame generation is not dependent on hardware (for the most part. It's definitely not an issue for the PS5). There's a program on steam for £5 that can do 3x frame generation and soon will add 4x. It's doesn't matter of you're playing demanding games, emulators, even videos, it just works. Even potato PCs see huge differences. If they lock this behind a Pro model then as much as I love Sony, that's a new low for them.

It's still shallow. There's very little to grind for except for some stratagems which most of which are useless.

Other than that there's the whole "fighting for the greater good" but knowing there's a games master who can influence anything they like, it's all a bit flat.

I was in the same boat until I just came to the conclusion that this ain't for me. It was all a bit shallow. It did have some of the best explosions of any game though I give it that.

Has the traffic increased massively in terms of users posting and submitting stories? I feel this place is quite slow at getting news out compared to the old days where it was front news instantly when something quite noticeable happened.

This. They all follow the same basic structure and it's boring. Open world games have all become to similar to one another.

Open world is already part one of setting it up to fail. I can sense the fetch quests, camp clearing, kill quests with hundreds of collectables sprinkled in already, just like every open world of the last 10 years. Lazy game design awaits.

I'm currently playing through the last trilogy after writing them off as Uncharted knock offs but I'm having more fun playing these than any current gen game. I miss these styles of games.

The fact this new one is open world bores me to death already. Stop ruining franchises with forced open worlds that don't need them!

What I'll never understand with Dino Crisis was that with RE6, they went down a action heavy route which people disliked and didn't fit the RE formula but I feel that would have worked perfectly for Dino Crisis if they went down the Dino Crisis 2 route of being a action game over the more RE inspired DC1.

As long as it's nothing like DC3, Id absolutely love a new DC game.

Sounds like this game just wasn't for them. A lot of people are liking it even if it can be frustrating at times

This. The campaign and zombies are terrible but the multiplayer has been the best it's been in years. Sledgehammer has been adding events, games modes, LTM, weapons, gun conversions, maps, new attachments, new camps and has generally done a lot more in this years COD than we've ever had in its history.

MW2 which came before it was the train wreck everyone hates, not MW3. MW3 fixed almost every issue people hated about MW2

It's Bethesda. They've re-released Skyrim a billion times and it's still riddled with bugs, terrible voice acting, dated graphics (even for it's time), poorly animated trash. The same for Fallout. What makes you think Starfield will be any different lol?
