Guys, I need to add just one more thing to this huge thread.
Burnout Paradise is going to be AWESOME on both platforms. Also I believe the guy is right about their development technique. Not because developing for PS3 makes better 360 games but because developing for PS3 FORCES them to completly redesign their engines for multi-core/parallel systems. Please read my whole post before killing me.
Think of any other 360 game with the following specs:
- SOLID ...
@gamesR4fun
Is that stupid question for me? If so here is my answer:
I am a gamer for a sh*t load of time... I'm 37 years old and been gaming since I was 12
I purchased AC for PS3 but I don't like it. Do I need to like it just because you do? lol
Anyway here is my AC experience: kicked off the game went through that annoying tutorial for Altair controls then got some 1191 AC action and was having fun when I got pulled back into the future time becau...
Unfortunately for me I was one of those 1M :(
I doubt the guy knows about it. I have a feeling that Ubisoft is the one deciding on the delay and not Free Radical.
AC is selling well and they actually showed good profits to their shareholders so they probably saving Haze for a big release next quarter.
EDIT: I wish the delay wasn't true though :(
Let this thread die guys. They suck and are not worth our time.
I didn't play Mass Effect yet but I bet 8.5 is low. Also I have Uncharted and I can tell you the game is definitely more than 8.0 (especially considering gamestop gave Assassin's Creed a 9.0).
Anyway, if gamestop keeps getting more traffic every time do a controversial review (either by over OR under rating a game) they will have no motivation to actually take reviews seriously. If on the other hand...
Where can I import these Blu-ray movies from? They might not be AAA but they surely seem at least XXX to me :)
This is not correct, MS "fixes" the machines. I have a friend that got his fixed 3 times before getting a brand new one.
I have a friend that got 3 RRoDs in a row and the repaired 360 never lasted more than a couple of weeks. After a few phone complains during his 3rd RRoD MS replaced his 360 by a brand new one and gave him a FULL MONTH of XBL. He was so happy about the 1-month XBL (yes, 1 month not 1 year), what a retard ;)
Mart you are an expert in sending 360s back to Microsoft. How many RRoDs dude? :)
Anyway the story also seems fake to me (the guy is totally biased towards Sony) but the truth is that MS f*ck*d up pretty bad with the quality of the 360. The RRoD is totally unacceptable. Who would buy a computer/tv/car/<insert anything here> with a 30% failure rate? No one. This is why I fail to see why MS is not sued by 360 customers. Also, just the fact that they even sell consoles with ...
Actually, we are fine, thank you :) Plenty of good games to play.
This is my current collection ( http://club.ign.com/b/list/...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
The Eye of Judgment

Uncharted is not available on the 360 dude. All your comments are so 360 biased that I can't believe you own a PS3 at all.
Have you even played the game? The plants move when the characters pass by them, all the animations are completely aware of the environment, lighting and water are simply the best I've seen on any console and all but one PC game: Crysis.Crysis is the only other game I've seen with such detailed environment/physics/water and unfortunately for me it does not run well on my dual CPU (4-cores) PC with 2Gb of RAM and an "old" 512Mb X1900XT. This same PC runs BioShock at over 60FPS (twice...
I think they pulled that "8.0 for Design" just to make sure they game stayed under 9.0. Not sure why reviewers do this to some great games.
Also he states Uncharted is "easily the best looking game on any console" and "a game that separates the PS3 from the 360". If you watch the review you will expect a higher score.
It's funny GT gave 9.1 to Assassin's Creed and 8.9 to Uncharted. I own both and I would pick Uncharted over AC any ti...
The demo runs at 720p not 1080p... not sure about the game but my guess is that it's also 720p. Where are these guys getting their information from?
GeoW 2 will be awesome but technically it can't be as much as a step up as Insomniac did from R:FoM to R&CF:ToD.
Don't expect GeoW2 to run at 60FPS (will most likely be running at 30 FPS like GeoW) and at the same time push polygons, animations and almost everything else like Ratchet did. If you ever played both Resistance and Ratchet you will understand what I mean. Insomniac's 2nd
generation engine is at least 4x as powerful (2x come from the 30->60 FPS alone)....
Have you seen both Resistance and Ratchet and Clank? Have you seen how much better the R&C engine is? I would dare to say that their 2nd generation engine is 4x better than the 1st generation that powered R:FoM.
Anyway you don't know what I'm talking about do you?
It's sold to retail. They cannot report consumer sales since they do not sell directly to consumers.
Anyway after all the struggling to sell PS3s do you think retailers are stock pilling on them? It is most unlikely. I know for a fact if I was in charge of purchases for a retailer I would order just a few at a time at least until I see how they sell.
The gamestop shops around me (Alpharetta, GA) sold out of the 40Gb model a couple of times, they keep getting them and refilling stock though. Also gamestop.com (online) sold out of 40Gb last week (they have them now).
On the other hand both bestbuy and frys close to me have plenty in stock. But it's funny that bestbuy.com stopped doing the in-store pickup for the 40Gb model...
Well, looks like 360's frame rate sucks too:
"The cities, as I stated earlier, are truly remarkable pieces of art. These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a cost. There is considerable texture pop-in and occasional framerate hiccups. None of this deters from the gameplay though, so it is forgivable."
From the videos I saw I can say that 360 "occasional framerate hiccups" are bad enough for me. It runs like crap, I can't ...
@Bonsai1214
I agree multi-core programming is the way of the future but both 360 and PS3 use multiple cores. Each SPE is also a complete core, with it's one cache, registers, etc. It's a specialized core that is extremely efficient at vector processing and can be 4 times faster than PS3's main core at some specific tasks.
We know some developers (mainly 3rd party) aren't using SPEs but I seriously doubt they are using 360's triple-core CPU to it's best either. Wh...
