Insomniac has 2 game development teams working on R&C and Resistance. It's impressive how productive Insomniac is and it's amazing how hard the 2 game dev teams push the engine team to deliver. Their version 2 engine (R&C) seems to be 4 times more powerful than version 1 (Resistance 1). For version 2, they doubled the frame rate, multiplied the number of enemies on the screen by 3 or more and added high-res textures (including a pretty smart hard drive based texture caching/streaming)...
@SSCOOLCHEA
So true :)
Bubbles for you. This is a game that deserves to be played. I actually got all 1000 medals points in 2 runs and a few extra chapter to finish some achievements. My total play time with the game was upwards of 25 hours... not bad for $60.
I doubt they will reduce their price. After all PSN is free and XBL Gold is $50/year and that did not make M$ make XBL Gold free.
Uncharted is an action adventure. The main game mechanic is shooting using a cover system like GeoW. But Drake also has melee attacks that are pretty cool to use since they are different depending on the environment and position you stand vs the enemy.
The climbing, puzzles, jeep and jet sky are kind of additional levels from the core shooter and even so, both the jeep and the jet sky require a lot of shooting too.
The game is a very good size with a first run in...
@Relcom bubbles for you. Nice job.
The features are just amazing... but its Insomniac. We know they can do it ;)
MS should make XBL Gold free... why do they charge their loyal 360 customers a fee to play online?
Too bad for Windows users but I'm fine since I use Apple computers and Apple is a Blu-ray partner :)
I think you are missing the point of the game. This game has no end and with all the levels people will create will be fun for a long time. I can only imagine the kind of levels people will create and how much fun it will be to download them, play them out and then rate them.
Also, you can play alone, with some friends or online. Every time I see this game I smile... it's amazing
This game is sick... unbelievable
Don't worry it will not look as good.
Those are really high polygon CGI images. No chance in hell the in-game character will look like that, not even on a 8800Ultra.
Xbox Live Gold = Tax
Xbox Live Diamond = Fee
XBL should be free! At least the online play should be free.
Anyway, this is why people spell Micro$oft or M$... it seems it's never enough.
The numbers just got adjusted:
DS: 301,018 (adjusted down from 310,951)
Wii: 146,788 (adjusted down from 158,351)
PS3: 125,196 (adjusted up from 114,896)
PS2: 122,242 (no changes)
PSP: 111,941 (adjusted down from 121,699)
X360: 88,916 (adjusted down from 91,696)
GBA: who cares, rofl
Wii sold 21k more than the PS3
PS3 sold 37k more than the X360
Actually Silver is free and they are also Xbox Live members. No where did he say they have 10M GOLD members. I expect more than 50% to be Silver... probably more than 70% actually.
Still 3M paying $50 a year for XBL... oh well another MS tax.
If they put in a Blu-ray WRITER drive in the Mac Pro then I will upgrade my Mac Pro just for it.
I could really use 25Gb/50Gb backup on a single disk, otherwise it's worthless.
So? What's the big deal... I would sell too if I had 25k shares at Microsoft. Then I would buy myself a nice Porsche 911 Turbo ;)
I'm not sure where you guys getting the numbers but WW numbers from VGChartz are as follows:
November + December:
Wii = 4,933,921
PS3 = 2,786,352
360 = 2,740,126
For only December:
Wii = 3,567,741
PS3 = 1,964,906
360 = 1,915,526
So the winner was the Wii, followed by a statistical tie between PS3 and 360. Here are the links:

Sorry but the smelly losers are more frequent on Xbox Live that PSN and you have to pay to smell (read "listen to") their crap. I find it really annoying to play Halo 3 and have to listen to all the kids crying, shouting and cur...
I totally agree with the top 3. Nothing comes close to Uncharted when you add visuals + physics. Uncharted's level "Up the River" is just too awesome. Also Uncharted has waterfalls, oceans, small rivers, etc. It has way more variety than Crysis. BioShock is pretty varied too and on the PC the lighting/physics are pretty awesome (too bad that on the 360 the physics/lighting is not on pair with the PC), and it completely deserves second place. Crysis is not as varied as BioShock/Uncha...
@Genuine
Sorry man, but PSN is way different from Xbox Live. It's pretty annoying and intolerable to listen to all those kids playing Halo 3. You hardly see anything like that playing Resistance and Warhawk over PSN.
So, maybe if you actually spend some time at PSN instead of Xbox Live you would know that PSN it's not even close to the same childish Xbox Live demographics.
Now, the perverts may be in both but how can we really tell?
Well, I can see you never played the game, otherwise you would know it's true...
