I'm so happy about this. Valve is giving developers a very good reason to port their games to linux, which is the only thing holding myself and many others back from ditching windows. Not only is Valve attacking the closed console platforms, they're also helping to bring down the near-monopoly microsoft has on PC operating systems. This is huge.
@Autodidactdystopia What are you talking about? All metal surfaces have some kind of micron-level roughness and inconsistency. And arctic silver is one of the best kinds of thermal paste you can buy! It's almost certainly better than the cheap OEM crap. Even if applied sloppy and thick, the mechanical retention will often squeeze the paste to an acceptable thickness. I've winced at how thick my classmates would apply thermal paste in my computer class, but they've rarely had an is...
(Woops, double post)
I'm mostly in agreement with with you, but where do you keep getting that %0.02 figure from? If you made that up you're just making the PlayStation supporters look bad...
Shhh, let them squabble over their inferior apu's. We know where the true next generation is...
Both next-gen consoles aren't pushing hardware boundaries nearly as much as the previous generation, so I really wouldn't expect any significant hardware issues from either.
The fifth depiction, "Criminal Minds" is so stupid, it's depressing. How many thousands of idiotic mothers did that convince "Video games are evil!" -_-
@Hicken you hit the nail on the head. Many people like myself just hate ms in general. I'm eagerly anticipating the results of Gabe's push for Linux support, just so I can get away from ms (and apple) for good.
@rhino did you really, honestly, seriously just compare Sony fans to a terrorist organization?! Wow. Just wow. smh...
This is a good deal for people who are going to upgrade the HDD to 1tb anyways. Also I'm curious how this 12gb is packaged. If it's like a 12gb ssd then you could throw it into a PC and put a few frequently used programs on it (maybe even squeeze windows onto it... Idk if it would fit though.)
@Soldierone Same thing happened to me at least a half dozen times (my dog was a spaz lol) 2nd or 3rd time the CD tray cracked, but I just glued the edge of it to keep it together. After that though everytime it got yanked off the shelf it'd eat a disc. But aside from that my PS2 never quit!
...slow news day?
The credibility of honest campaigns is seriously at risk. It's not even the copy-cat campaigns that I'm worried about either, it's crap like "the doom of Atlantic city" that I'm really worried about; real, unique campaigns that just don't pay out. This reveals a large problem with these kinds of fundraising campaigns, the people making them have no obligation or accountability after they receive their cash. They can just make up a cool idea and product, then proc...
Summary of the comments here:
"You're a fanboy!"
"No, YOU'RE a fanboy!"
etc.
The word "fanboy" has lost all it's meaning. Can we all just agree to stop using that word?
The pro-MS people are slowly starting to emerge now that the anti-DRM frenzy has calmed down a bit. I'm actually glad that there are articles explaining the other side, but that still doesn't mean MS's policy is a good thing.
MS has claimed that there are some benefits to their game distribution and network system, and that could potentially be true. But the fact is, this system puts more power into MS's hands. Seeing the benefits of this system requires a cer...
Nah their song should be nice and simple, I think this is perfect. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
No man don't even give them your money. Every console they sell supports these kinds of anti-consumerist policies. The best thing we can do is not only avoid buying the xbox, but ACTIVELY CONVINCE OTHERS to avoid it as well.
I'd like to throw all of the "one's" out of the window actually...
What a retarded comparison! Both games are superficial in that they put such a large focus on graphics, but uncharted in particular is less a game and more of an interactive movie. There are far too many moments where something crazy is happening and the game tells you to repeatedly tap 'X' like a zombie. It certainly has a good story, and there's nothing necessarily wrong with that type of game, but it's a totally different genre than crysis. You might as well ask whether PC ...
@Hatsune-Miku That's a pretty ignorant statement. Go onto hackaday.com and check out all the awesome things made by all those nasty mean hackers you're talking about...
