I'd say RDR did it right too. Tbh TW3 reminded me of RDR in some ways while playing..in a good way.

It's true..all of this happened because of one reason though. They simply ran out of money so they couldn't complete the game.
The developers themselves admitted they ran out of money and released the game unfinished...such a shame. I don't think a 2.5 is warranted though.
The story and characters were great...it simply stopped when the story was far from finished.
The game was good, it simply wasn't great. Still one of the best games this year for me!
Then your question doesn't make any sense since you mention your old slow graphics card.
The external processing unit is not for normal calculations though...it will do the upscaling and provide an additional display on a TV, not doing normal GPU work.
Said that the PS4 is capable enough for good looking VR games anyway.

Not sure if the blame is entirely on the game developers. I bet the console manufacturers use some pressure too cause they want something to show on those big conferences.
This game will come to PC as well though.
