I rather they do not do that. Android phones aren't that strong and will have severely downgraded visuals. Ever see the mobile port of RE4? It isn't pretty and looks worse than the PS2 version.
Also, not everyone is a pirate and some people actually buy their games.

They aren't the only ones doing the cheesy family/friends commercials; Sony and Microsoft do them too. Watch a commercial for the PSEye or Kinect, you'll see the same thing. The casuals eat that stuff up.

It does kind of help gamers in a way. 3rd party developers are going to go where the gamers are. If you happen to own a console that is doing better at the moment, you can expect more support and games for it.
