What are you talking about? Zelda was confirmed for E3. Not to mention they still have games like X, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, and Smash Bros.
Plus, Super Mario 3D Land is a Mario game that came out for 3DS in 2011. I doubt they will show that at E3.
It's a port of a critically acclaimed console game. It's not going to get bad scores.

They're comparing what WiiU sold in one year to what the PS3 sold year one. I had to re-read the article to understand. The title is kind of misleading. Right now, the WiiU is doing better- if not closely the same- than the PS3 did it's first year in Japan.

This is not meant to make the series evolve. It's a spin off, and spin offs often change the formula and are different from games in the mainline.

"Gameplay" in trailers doesn't always mean playable. A lot of developers make a build just to show in the trailers.
They are working on a real Zelda game. Zelda U is being worked on right now. Nintendo isn't even developing this game, they're just aiding in the process.

We don't need an M rated Zelda.
Why do we need blood, gore, intense language, and sexual content? That's what makes an M rated game. That's the criteria for an M rated game.
Zelda should never be anything pass T for teen. The series doesn't need sex, gore, and f bombs being dropped every 5 minutes.
Metroid doesn't need that either. That would completely ruin both franchises.
They are making a new Zelda game. This isn't Zelda U, it's a spinoff. Zelda U was confirmed to come out later next year. This direct was only for things coming in the beginning of 2014.
