Nice comparison. I still can't believe all of the people on LoT and N4G comparing this game to Uncharted 2. Both games are phenomenal, but completely different experiences.

I have to agree that the PS3 version does look nicer. If they could only get the performance to match the same quality. Might be a bargain bin purchase, especially with all the AAA titles coming out over the next few months.

We are in 2010 and we still have to deal with half resolution textures on the PS3. Seriously developers this is pathetic. Naughty Dog needs to hold a GDC workshop on how to properly develop for the PS3...

And that is really unfortunate. Basically it is validating what Sega pulled, that they can publish crappy ports and people will still buy it.

Hmmmm....that is a tough one. Both were really bad ports. At least Ghostbusters was playable and held a similar look and framerate. Bayonetta is all over the place. And really, loading when I pause?

I would have to vote Bayonetta.

That is a tough one, if you go with the PS3 version you get an improvement on visuals but take a hit on performance. But I agree with Delta, looks like a kick @ss RPG no matter what you purchase.

Also worth noting on the Eurogamer article:

"Usual form within any Digital Foundry Face-Off is simply to run the game at default settings and let the chips fall as they may - the assumption being that the default is equivalent to the colour settings within the console's framebuffer, or at the very least what the developer calibrates the output to. However, keeping the default settings is really not a particularly good idea within Modern Warfare 2 and we're also not sure how ...

"kinda looks like you're just whoring for hits now."

Funny thing is you did the exact thing with their analysis earlier this week and I am sure you will write something on your blog about this post.

They do default out of the box settings for the game only. They always show the differences between full/limited in the first rollover. The PS3 just has some contrast issues this time around.

Wow...this game looks bad on both platforms. And I agree, those background characters look straight from the 16-bit days.

Ah yes, another site confirming the craptastic load times on the PS3 (w/o install). It's great that many sources confirm the same thing...the PS3 version is inferior.

I have to agree with you. Sony fanboy's are in a default, defensive mode lately. Did any of you read this article, nothing but good things to say about the game. Seriously, put all of your effort into something constructive, like nagging Sony to get the cross-chat implemented.

Anyways, looking forward to the combo bd with hopefully an updated GoW III demo.

man, all I know is Sony really needs to get this feature figured out and pronto. We're coming up on the 3 year anniversary of the systems launch in the US and we still do not have cross game chatting. You guys can help develop KZ2 and UC2 but can't seem to get cross game chat? Really?

wow, $99 is a little steep for my wallet. I really guess it would depend on the size and build quality of Pandora's Box.

It is funny though, any site that does cross platform comparisons are considered "xbox fanboys" - Digital Foundry/Eurogamer, analysts on Beyond3D, PS360, 1UP, IGN, Video Gamer and the list goes on. Must be one big conspiracy spearheaded by Microsoft.

Anyway, good review of what is sure to be game of the year.

A few things. First it is easy to see how they came to the conclusion of the Xbox 360 winning on graphics. When compared feature to feature, the PS3 lost. If you read the article they say:

"On one hand, the PlayStation 3 had a few sharper, higher resolution textures than the Xbox 360. On the other hand, the Xbox 360 toted some impressive effects that the PlayStation 3 lacked, such as Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), sharper shadow maps, and a pretty sweet-looking ligh...

Nice how this site, sankakucomplex, pretends that the digital foundry/eurogamer images are their own doing.

And I also love how people take things out of context.

Quoted from sankakucomplex:

"With motion blur there is virtually no difference."
"However, with motion blur off, visual quality is minutely improved."

"They only review games that they think are better on 360."
Well a majority of AAA titles will be better on the 360. History has shown this time and time again. When a game is developed on the 360 the best the PS3 can hope for is a tie.

"do ninja gaiden sigma"
yeah, because comparing ninja gaiden sigma 2 would be fair. Come on, Tecmo had an additional year polishing and remixing it on the PlayStation 3.

I will agree however that the PS...

One of the best and most honest reads on this site. Summed up the entire N4G Experience!

I also love the articles that have 1 or 2 comments and instantly go front page and have 100+ degrees. Can we say inside job?

Crysis 2 and FFXIII for me. However I am looking forward to Alan Wake's visuals as well as God of War 3. 2010 is going to be a great year for games!
