To be honest, I don't really care if Sony is in first, or last. I just don't want anyone to be too far ahead or too far behind. Competition breeds excellence.
As long as I get to play the amazing games out and coming that I'm getting a PS3 for, I couldn't care less if it's in first, second, or third.
AWESOME! This is definitly one of the top contendors for GOTY next year. Allthough it has some tough competition with GTA 4, LittleBigPlanet, Alan Wake (if it comes out), and Final Fantasy XIII (If it comes out)

PSP is the first that's been able to put even a DENT into Nintendo's handheld monopoly. I like them both equally personally.
Wii Sports WAS fun...for a couple weeks. Now it's like whenever someone who's never played it wants to play it, I really don't want to and it feels like a chore to play the game with them. It just got boring so fast.
I have a Wii, no PS3 (yet), and no 360. I got the Wii last Christmas in all the hype, and I have to say, I'm very underwhelmed. I'm moderatly satisfied because I got to beat Fire Emblem and Metroid at least though.
Mario Galaxy is great. Definitly my favorite Mario game. I havn't really liked 3-D Mario's (including 64 ZOMG!!!) but Galaxy was really fun for me.

Hmm... I might go check out Rouge Galaxy and Odin Sphere (especially Rouge Galaxy, I love Level-5). I hadn't even heard of those games, but they seem awesome (I love RPG's) I guess the PS2 really is still swimming.
I havn't forgotten those. I'll be getting Ratchet for Christmas along with a PS3!!
@above. Ratchet takes like 12 hours (standard action game lenghth). Plus High replayability. Halo 3 takes 6 hours, also has high replayability. Just shut the **** up and play whatever game you want and stop bashing other games you've never played.
I still hate how Wii is dominating without putting any effort into it. (this coming from someone who ONLY owns a Wii right now)
Seriously, they SHOULD get their act together, because I barly touch my Wii (try not to giggle) There are 3 or 4 really good games for it, but there's nothing with Online to keep you busing inbetween game releases like 360 and PS3 have.

Nintendo has ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS owned the handheld market. Sony has done an amazing job just by not being completely thrown out of the handheld market like everyone else who tried to go up against Nintendo there. So don't use the PSP:DS comparison for consoles.
And Sony DOES make a profit off every PS2 sold, not sure about PSP, but I think they might.

Still havn't seen enought to be convinced that it'll be as big as some people say. Uber long development does not ALWAYS equal greatness. Heavenly Sword had some long-@$$ development, but it was just "pretty good"
If they start showing us a lot more stuff about this game, I could either start to be convinced, or turned off.
Super Mario Galaxy's last boss was pretty pathetic too. Not that it was bad exactly, it's just that, you fought Bowser the final time the EXACT same way you fight him 3 other times in the game. And then the annoying crying stars after you beat him in the ending movie were awful.
There is SO much negative media out to attack the Playstation name nowadays and most of it seems rather unjustified, or over-exaggerated in comparison to the lack of it for the competition.

This may become one of the biggest advancements in Video Games since Mario went 3-D. It's going to truly utilize all the features of this gen (online sharing, huge levels, tons of memory, great graphics, online community) into one amazing platformer experience.
But with the Wii selling twice as much as the PS3, shouldn't the amount of 3rd party sales be twice as much if the indeed do sell well?
I know they weren't trying to compete, but two platformers coming out at the same time might get some people to just buy one rather than both, wheras if one comes out, then the other the next year, they wouldn't unintentionally take sales away from each other.
New Jak FOR THE LOVE OF THE ALMIGHTY SPAGEHTTI MONSTER! Then, when Insomniac has Resistance 2, ND will have a new Jak, so they won't have 2 major platformers competeing. Just keep alternating is what they should do IMO.
I really want a new Jak, Jak 3 is in my top 3 games of all time. I know a new Jak would sell quite a few consoles when it would come out too.

That seems to be the mindset of too many gamers now-a-days. I blame MS for saying Xbox Live is the only thing that matters. Last gen, games like God of War, that were around 10-15 hours, sold TONS of copies, because they were EXCELLENT games. but now, a 10-15 hour EXCELLENT game comes out, but it doesn't have online, so nobody buys it.
