The difference is Sony is actually delivering to their core audience with a royal flush of top notch first party exclusive games while MS is completely diverting their efforts away from the hardcore demographic and focusing more on the casual gamers. Whereas Microsoft is digressing towards one group of people, Sony is doing a fantastic job catering to both.
One being actually showing new exclusive games.

This should've been their choice a long time ago. In fact, this is the system they should've launched 5 years ago. Sony easily topped the quality of this console when they first launched. It even looks like Microsoft copied the older design of the PS3.

Work on this and add 8 player free roam as well and sell ir as DLC. This game online would blow away Red Dead Redemption.

Nobody said the visuals weren't possible, it was the overwhelming amount of content. MGS4 would have to look like an original Xbox game to fit on the 360's shitty ass DVD 9 format.
