Success does not rely on sales numbers only. Earnings are also made out of just game sales. Minecraft has a huge earning base from add-ons. As well factored into success is period of growth and current market worth versus said historic growth. You seem to be valuing the success off a single variable.
"I do think you’ll see some consolidation on that side. You’ll probably see a little more on our side as well. I do think there are probably too many film studios and you might see one or two less over the next five-to-ten years. But I think the next area of consolidation will be the games business.” - it appears his idea of consolidation means LESS studios. And not just growing studios via acquisitions.

I think the point of "you've played this game before" lies in the fact it is a new IP. Obviously we have seen Halo before... because Halo changed the landscape of FPS and everything coming out in that genre tries to be the Halo killer.
For sure of late they are. It's like the only new idea they have is to remaster/remake something that is just a few years old sometimes.
I mean Wolverine... great in 2025. But all the remasters/remakes are out of hand.
Except for the fact you have to look at plans for KOTOR to see how they are more likely going to ruin the loved classic by bringing it into modern times. they hi=red a writer that has already proclaimed in the past that she is not a fan of KOTOR. And her inclusion simply appears to be an attempt at bringing the SJW culture into the story line. (so tired of the felt need to do this everyplace)
And they plan on completely changing the combat style of the game which is what h...
And I absolutely hate it. Once in a blue moon I can handle a remake. But when I see so much focus on remakes during a new generation it is disheartening that the choice to make a quick buck by recycling old material is chosen over simply producing new work.
To take screen shots that are not representative of actual gameplay. How many previous generation games had raytracing options in replays? I'll wait. And IF it existed in replays in previous generations than the idea that a current gen 9 game can't do it in game is simply a fail.
What is the point then?
Because that is what I say all the time when I am enjoying my game play... "this tone is just so concerning". lol
I have to imagine that is not US dollars as if you paid that amount then you did not even try to get it cheaper. Because since launch resale offers have been far less than that in the open resale market.
2½ year sales projections don't simply double up to present 5 year sales projections. That is not how sales projections work.
They also combine PS5 digital with PS5. As well when PS4 and Xbox One they listed all variations under one total more than not.
@F0XH0UND922 - no less different than Xbox One and Xbox One X. No less different than PS4 and Ps4 Pro. The fact is they are different variations of their generation hardware as will the PS5 Pro when it comes out.
I will be getting my son a Series S this month to replace the One X I gave him after I got myself a Series X. The One X will go into my daughters room. The old One S I have no clue where it will go yet?
And apparently some Japanese stores have quite a lot of PS5s on hand of late. Seems like stock is not as much an issue in some countries?
But for the main part all next gen systems are selling out stock globally.
@mikey15 - what was the point of referencing Fortnite in an FPS conversation? Do you not realize Fortnite is not an FPS?
I am playing "Judgement" right now with this weekend's Free Play Days event. It simply has the Yakuza game style all over it. But very story driven...
I simply love the character models "eyes". They are the thing that make the characters pop. They do them so well. The rest of the model is really just ok but truly has the look of the real actors appearance. But the "eyes" bring the emotion out of the characters. Especially the main character...
I think they need to stay away from his origin story for the first game. Save that for a DLC or later prequel. So no Abraham Cornelius and they can start the game in Canada and maybe toss in a beautiful opening confrontation between Wendigo and the Hulk but feel they need to venture out of the Western cities and move to his stomping grounds in Japan. So Clan Yashida story line and more a Tokyo vibe. Silver Samurai and Lady Deathstrike are obvious choices. I think bringing in Ogun as an overla...
"Deathloop's failure to deliver on its promise of continuing Arkane's gameplay philosophy by missing the mark on the precedent of freedom laid down by previous titles." - because the premise of their review is that it wasn't the same type of game we have gotten previously from Arkane. That is literally how lame the review is. They don't like it because they feel it should have followed same precedence as previous titles.
@mikey15 - did they @ you? I don't even see a reply from you in this thread. Are you feeling attacked? Is your reply the SPAM reply that we can't see?
You and hundreds of millions of people apparently. So many people have played Minecraft it is ridiculous. And it is so prevalent on mobile/tablets and such that it has gained a huge player base across the world. 500 million+ player base is not something to shake a stick at. :)
