Why would they not? The PS3 released 11 years ago with a 60GB HDD had a $599 price point.
They said the same of Dead Rising 3 and 4. How long has that been now? At that rate, the next consoles will likely be out.
@danoman64 - don't exaggerate the PS4 thing. The quote was "We definitely do have plans and thoughts about other platforms," - Han Kim. Could be Switch for all we know. Or PS5. But the idea they mentioned PS4 itself is less than accurate.
Uhhhhmmmm.... no.
If these are the "worst" then Microsoft is doing something good.
@IGiveHugs2NakedWomen - "Mass Market a.k.a. Casual Market" in turn a.k.a. the largest purchasing base.
@fr0sty - not sure you understand the real story of profit and worth at least in this particular situation.
@moldybread - jaggies aren't half as bad as the pop in.
@BiggerBoss - try looking at the charts at least. x360 in that same time period had a huge surge in purchases. XB1 did not share the same surge that x360 got. Simple. And that along with people likely holding off on any XB1 purchase in wait for XB1X would obviously account for a gap reduction between systems.
x360 saw the majority of its sales in the latter half of its system life. So XB1 will need to surge at some point to keep up with sales numbers.
"...so the use of the words last of us is an Omaha to a game" - I think you meant to say Oklahoma City maybe?
Actually, Island exploration is already a thing in Sea of Thieves.
Never even heard of Skull & Bones until now.
Psst... and they had Ed Sheeran in the season opener. Appears that Game of Thrones has jumped the shark with their season opener. Trying to get all the nonsense fan association that they can.
You don't know how to read a comparison data chart do you? XB1 was effectively out trending sales for x360 up until about 6 months ago. At that point, sales gap dipped under the 1Mil mark and kept going down.
Just after the holiday season and around the time they started pumping up more news on what Scorpio (name at that time) was going to offer and do in comparison to other systems.
I think the main reason though is the idea that players are holding off due to XB1X after its announcement and media push. We will have to see this holiday if any of that changes back to a more normal sales pattern.
What are you even going on about? No such issue I have heard. Pretty sure it would have been big news if Ark "broke xboxes".
@Kokyu - if you call selling over 7million not very popular then I have to assume you really have high standards? https://venturebeat.com/201...
And its peak play time on Steam is still in the Top 10: http://steamcharts.com/
People... this is not a current Gen system. It is little different than what Nintendo did with its SNES Classic Mini. Only placing a few more current games into the mix that were for the most part failures.
Simply because they are listening to the feedback of players and giving them what they want.
PS3 was 20GB $499 and 60GB $599. That would be $605/$727 at today's prices.
And if you split the versions into 4K vs 1080P models then you will run into same issue XB1X will have with XB1 and parity in games with it.
