Nope more like he released a game that looked like a whole bunch of other games released at that time. Plus at a point where people were getting sick of wall running / jetpack floaty FPS games. Plus maybe it just was not that good.

If anything this sets up MS really great for the "next" gen. Much like Sony at the end of PS3 had some major highly acclaimed games come out like The Last of Us, plus some MS mishaps for this gen (Cost/DRM/360 RROD/weak 360 support at end with exclusives. and Sony on the mark $100 less/No DRM/strong PS3 support at end with exclusives.
With MS services they are putting in place and hopefully a road map of exclusives. 2020/21 could look really good for MS.
How about focusing on excellent exclusives. Enough with iterations on XB1 for this gen.
Also removing the disk drive is a bad idea. Perhaps in two generations from now sure.
XB1X3 with no disk drive sure. Although by that point I don't think there will be consoles anymore it will just be a service to your supa smart TV.
It's simpler than that, Smart TV App.
Either a PlayStation or a Xbox App/service your choice.
That's the end game. 5, 10, 15 years from now.

Ya 360 kinda won that gen (In the US at least) with hearts and minds even though it did sell less, and it's end of life exclusives were pretty barren near the end also.

Hardly...X was irrelevant PS4 is still selling 2.5 to 1 even though the X just came out 5 months ago. And yes PS4 is selling more than the Pro just like the XB1 is selling more than the X. It just did not move the needle. Hell, look no further than Switch an extremely under powered system also flogging the XB1s/x. Install base, cost, and exclusives plus over flowing exclusives have and will keep XB1s/x at bay. As far as next gen goes who knows were not going to see a PS5 and a new XB till 2...
As a super hero never really cared for Spiderman that much comic or movie wise more of an Ironman fan.

I don’t have one friend PS4 user that has psnow not one but we all have ps+ for sure. BC is nice sure...at a launch if a system three years in, meh. Too little to late. Cute feature though.
No way are we going to hear anything about PS5 this year. Even with XB1X out PS4/Pro are still selling 2.5 to 1 over XB!s/x. Sony would be idiots if they release or announce their intentions this year. At most I could see announcement in late 2019 E3 and a release in 2020. Ya don't mess with a run-a-way train. Just keep adding new services and continue the flood of exclusives, while maintaining AAA 3rd Party DLC to PS4 first. They don't have to worry about XB1X.
