Checker board rendering and Native 4K are of diminishing returns: It's like comparing Sand at two different beaches at 6 feet away. The Org XB1 and PS4 was like comparing boulders and rocks at the beach.
As the resolutions go higher and higher, the human eye is going to notice less of a difference between to resolutions like Native/Checker, especially at 6 to 8 feet or more away from a screen where most reside when playing console ...

Actually MS been careful in not taking chances in new IP, SP exclusives, if money did not matter like you say they would have thrown money at this at the start.
Sony is head stopping MS this Gen, but even when they don't Sony ends up top of that gen anyway (so far)
But I do think next gen is going to be a really close race.
PS5 2020, TLOU2 launch title. PS4 will not play PS5 games but you can bet the PS5 will play PS4 games.

Sony gonna come out with the PS5 in 2020 with good price point, TLOU2 at launch, with Backwards compatibility with PS4 games. Plus these two things. Na... more like Sony just signed the death warrant for the next XB
