and where did that get them with GCN? Thats right, dead last. And where did "gimmicks" get them? First by a long shot, hell if I was nintendo, i would say screw you guys too because you clearly don't support them.

Yeah tell that to nintendo and microsoft when they create cash everytime they release a new mario or halo. Exclusives matter, and its one of the big reasons why nintendo has been so successful.
THey are over analyzing the numbers for the 3ds and ds. They are migrating to the 3ds, simple as that, combine the numbers, and you get the original ds sales from last year. They are doing fine, chill your beans.
You don't get 2008 DS numbers in your first year, in fact why don't you look up the ds's 2005 september NPD which had only 200k. Thats less than the 3ds.

I like how everyone lives in a fantasy world where the wii was the most hyped console when they showed after E3 05, when it really was considered the least hyped by far, was getting critically bashed, and nintendo was going "insane and desperate". They didn't show any games, they didn't have a list of publishers, all they showed was some guy flinging a remote and introduced the name Revolution.

how exactly do they not look good? 3ds is the one and only reason ds sales are down. combine the ds and 3ds sales its 256,000 worldwide. nintendo still the handheld king.

it looks pretty good, surprised they actually put effort in the 3ds version.
3d is the future, as of right now people don't see it, but in a few years time it will be huge.

For nintendo? Hell yeah, they needed a new system. THe wii just doesn't cut it anymore. Ill keep it for the epic experience of Zelda Skyward Sword, but other than that it's not gonna keep my interest. Nintendo is doing the right thing by releasing the wii u in 2012
For microsoft and Sony? I said so as well, their consoles are starting to lose interest and the sales have been really down, I think a 2013 is a good release window for them.
