They know he isn't retiring right?
he isn't retiring, he is stepping down, as in no longer working with mario and Zelda because he feels they don't need his help anymore. He will be working on other personal projects, possibly some new ips or the wii series(wii sports, wii play, ect)
Well thats upsetting, it's not like he was losing it either, super mario 3d Land and Zelda Skyward Sword were incredibly fun. I guess it's necessary to set up nintendo for the future. The day he fully stops developing will be a sad one

It's something new that we haven't really seen before in a true gaming device, people will eat it up. I thought kinect was stupid yet that sold a bunch, I thought the wii was meh yet that sold a bunch, I though the wii Fit was stupid yet that sold a bunch, ect.... Something new from a controller standpoint will always keep people interested in your product
Yeah, thats what they said about the PS2. Getting cocky and not releasing a new console opens windows to competitors. Ask nintendo in 89 when the Genesis came out or in 94 when the PS1 came out.
As I speak to kids, they love the wii. ITs generation thing. And honestly, this generation was a lot more fun for kids than the precious snes days, and I will be full to admit that. The games are just better now

actually, not it's not, japan has never liked zelda. This is the highest first week for a zelda game in japan minus Ocarina of time.
I think it more has to do with deal with droughts, I mean lets not act like nintendo didn't support the wii with games

Wouldn't the Wii disprove that theory? They made more money than microsoft this gen, and the only reason it would well was because of it's exclusivity and New idea.
This game is really fun, Id recommend it to anyone with a 3DS
