MS is a good company but they take the easy road far too often.
Let me help you out just a tad...the point on my...rant, is that MS doesn't prepare you for the future and make you console gel well with the devices that will come out in the future as well as the devices that come out now. That to me is a problem when other companies are(In this case, Sony).

I had been wondering and asking about this very point. There's a significant difference in HDMI 1.2 vs. 1.3. MS continues to stay in the present and not build anything for the future. Good find deepbrown. For those who didn't picup Motorstorm or Virtual Fighter 5 they have to be salivating about this. Anyone with a PS3 who is not totally into RPG's will probably pick up both of these or at least Heavenly Sword. A lot of people are leary of dragon games but this is the best I've ever seen. If I was willing to risk $60 on Fight Night 3 (Not incredibly impressed) I for dayum sure will spend $60 on Lair!
Sony will be financially fine. They are making a profit from every PS2 sold and it's out selling all next-gen consoles. They're also making a killing off of games like GOW2 that PS2 and PS3 players are buying. Sony does well at selling cameras, tv's and other electronics. Financially, I think they'll be okay.

I'm one of those current buyers who aren't pleased about the "Elite's" release. Oh well, what can you do? I don't plan on buying it because financially speaking I don't think it's a good buy. I can upgrade my PS3 harddrive for far cheaper. I know that 120gb won't be enough soon and MS will jut try to get another $200 beans for 240gb hard drive. I'm good and a couple of my buddies who have a 360 don't plan on upgrading but if they did that's their decision.

Like Raist, I haven't had the problem arise either and again like Raist, I don't have any devices that are supposedly the cause of this drop of connectivity. Everything I run is wired except the PS3 and 360 controllers. I rarely have an issue with my 360 controllers either.
The PS3 sucks...isn't that a little extreme? You may not like it but as many have said, the graphics on the 360 and PS3 are comparable. In the least, it's as good as the 360. To allow 360 to be screwed by the people who make the hard drive is unacceptable. MS has the leverage to bring that cost down. Walmart does it everyday. Hard drives of that magnitude are not that expensive. They've found a way not to add it to the cost of the Elite with HDMI and it only cost $79 more than the Premium...
I agree that Resistance is the best game out for the PS3 (IMO, some may argue Motorstorm, personal preference). So, what is the best game out for the 360? I'll asnwer this one...Gears. PS3 and 360 resemble a great deal.

I agree Virtual Gamer...if it were just a hard drive up grade no (even though they don't need to make this move anyway) if it effected the functionality of games then "yes" for the same reasons you listed.
I'm already displeased with MS for the Elite (based on the HDMI, the hard drive and the price) I don't want Sony to be on the list. Maybe a Wii is a good purchase after all, they haven't mentioned changing their system. Just need more games...
The hatred of the 360 is definitely unwarranted. The PS2 was the only system I ever sat out overnight for. It was an awesome machine. I liked it because I could play my PS1 games. I was hesitant to buy an Xbox because I thought they could've come out at the same time as the PS2 but wanted to see what Sony would do. I bought an Xbox during it's 2nd year only for Halo.
