That's weird...so because Sony wants you to buy their product you don't like them. Because they market it, you don't like them. Do you not like MS because the 360 has red rings of death that softtware, over heating, or staring at it can cause? (I'm exaggerating)
You like who you want but if you don't like Sony for those reasons then how do you like any gaming company. Each touts its system as real gaming and next gen.
I guess I don't understand your logic. (Not...
Dude, this whole site is almost based on opinion. I'm not defending Sony but I will Cnet. They make give very helpful advice for electronic purchases and do very thorough tests of their products. I think they are as about as objective as you can get without robots performing test. They just did a poll and asked what people wanted. The Wii and the iPhone have both been number one on this list as well as other products that...people want. Currently the Wii is 2nd and the Elite is 3rd.

I can see it being the most wanted since it's price keeps it out of reach of a lot of casual gamers. I am the only one of my friends who can afford it and like a few people who posted above me, I'm playing my 360 less and less. My 360 still gets most of the pt because my buddies have Xboxes or 360's and we play Halo often.
We're all working stiffs and our college days of playing video games all day are over but we try to play when we can. Most of my friends don't game outside...
That is very interesting technology. Perhaps with the proper coordination that could be incorporated in the next gen gaming devices. Doubtful because of its very new technology to the market but maybe the generation after that.
Then I could read the arguments of who's holograph is better PS5 or XB1440. :)
This looks like it will be an epic game!
For essentially doing nothing but pay the electric bill like I always do anyway, I'll take it. The PS3 doesn't add hardly anything to the bill.
Unfortunately Arkahm...that's the problem. Sometimes good deeds is it's own reward. I may know someone who gets cancer one day and this saves their life. Then, it will be worth every penny. Heck, it's worth it if it save someone I don't know.
I think you're right about Microsofts strategy. I think they do try and kill competition. Heck, its worked so far!
I don't think they will reduce Sony to Sega though. No offense meant, but Microsoft has not proved it is very good at producing stable hardware this generation. I think that has left a bad taste in many gamers mouth and the friends of those gamers as they mature and watch where their money goes more carefully next gen.
I do beleive that MS will rel...
Gotta disagree with you Kewlkat007 (without actually pressing the "disagree" button). Cutting jobs is not always a bad thing and most companies due it to trim fat. Sony is a Japanese company that is removing waste from it's company. If you have 158,000 employees there is a good chance that with a close look at your processes you can stand to lose quite a few employees. Big companies often have extra layers or two people who do the same job and it's not necessary. Using Lean principl...
Interesting move by Sony. I don't think its really about the hard drive more than it's about getting the PS2 chip out of its manufacturing process. I think the 80gb has come to them as a good deal and a nice smoke screen for removing the chip in all boxes.
I was not pleased with MS's new sku because I had already purchased a 360 Premium and them adding a new hard drive and HDMI kinda pissed me off. I can't upgrade my harddrive with out buying theirs for another $180. That's no...
It will probably be considered the most brilliant strategy in console wars history (is there really such a thing?) if Sony moves 80% of the PS2 owners over to PS3. It could also be seen as the dumbest strategy ever if they lose all their PS2 buyers to the 360.
The backwards compatibilty is a serious plus for the PS3 in regards to holding on to PS2 fans. I still have PSone games, they get no spin but if I did want to throw them in I like having the option. I haven't picked up GO...
I've got around 40 units complete. I think its a very worthy cause. I'm going to put it on my taxes next year as a donation. I wonder how that works...
You'll know whether its worth it or not way before 2 years. By two years you'll be enjoying it, wanting it, or not concerned about it.
I'm one of many who have been waiting on this game since it was first announced solely for the PS3. This game takes a new spin on stealth and strategy. This will be an easy purchase for me.
I would hope you're right Light of Darkness but as an avid halo 2 player I didn't see anything in 7 minutes that was largely different from Halo 2 in the realm of gameplay. I'm not saying reinvent the game but what did we see that was new to the gameplay.
I agree with another post that said destructive enivornments (that hurt people) would make this game a lot better. When he through the grenade and it just got the wall dirty I'm thinking "Why do I die from dirt grenades?...
I'm not arguing with you because...I can't but I think that said Beta. I don't put a lot of stock into these videos more than what's goin on in these videos.
I'm an avid Halo 2 player and I don't know if I seen anything that is mind blowing or very "next-gen" about Halo 3. Maybe the defense grenade but that's it.
When my friends and I thought of Halo 3 on the 360 we were thinking "Man, that's probably going to have killer graphics and have you doin...
I like the franchise but I sure hoe there are many boards. I like this remake but I would prefer all the old boards remade and then 12-20 new boards. Then the game would seriously be a must have.
I know, that's a lot of boards.
Snoope Dizzle...positive feedback for cracking me up!! LOL!!!
I agree with Deep because that's what I did. I bought a tv and regular tv just doesn't cut it on an HDTV. I had to get a HD cable box and then I needed something that played HD movies and luckily the PS3 played games and movies. It was a no brainer. Since I game I'm not a stand alone player customer. I used my 360 to play dvd's before the PS3 and my Xbox before the 360 and the PS2 before the Xbox. No reason to buy a stand alone,...for me.
Kewlkat007...people (me) paid $400 for a game console. They saved $400. That's a good deal of money. For $200 more they could have got a PS3. If one is expensive then they both are.
I don't understand how people complain about price when $400 is not cheap. These same people went on to buy games that are $60 a pop! Some even got XBL for $50 more dollars. HDDVD add on, you know where I'm going...($200)
If you are playing either system you have some kind of money, ...
