No. Majority of new games nowadays cost 40 to 60 dollars. Compare that to new movies released on blu-ray or dvd that cost 20 to 30 dollars. Gamers are entitled to a product of at least solid, if not excellent, quality. Are gamers angry? It would be silly to say gamers are always angry. We get angry when the industry are getting out of hand with its practices. I'm cheap when it comes to videogames. Most of them are used copies. Bad Company 2 is one of the few games I didn't hesitate to spend 40ish bucks on. I definitely recommend it!

Killzone franchise has only recently began in the PS2 generation. Gran Turismo franchise, on the other hand, has existed since the PS1 days.
Evolution in the FPS genre is still happening. Borderlands was great with incorporating RPG elements into a shooter. Left 4 Dead refined 4-player FPS co-op. Of course there's Bad Company 2, which the website mentioned, with its destructible environments, and Bioshock showed that shooters can tell engaging stories, too. Halo Reach had Forge, which is an excellent level/map creator. Then there's Gears of War which made its unique cover system a staple in numerous FPS and even 3rd person...
