But in Sony's case it is doom and "cost savings" because of their projected $1 billion loss.
Even though if you look at things closely the major layoffs came from SSM 50+ people getting laid off and a project getting cancelled (Rumored for reveal at E3) with the project lead also being let go or leaving on his own merit. Am guessing the above to you doesn't suggest troubled development of some kind but is obviously cost savings.

Interesting comment from Patrick Loughman -
"I got laid off from Microsoft Studios today... I... I'm free? I'M FREEEEEEE!"

Thoughts to those affected hopefully they get back on their feet soon.

Nooooo I lost this time :(
Congrats to BOWZABUB and enjoy your large scoop :p
Am liking this new MS. They hinted at this last year near XB1 launch.
One price = Access to the app on all your windows platforms.
I wonder what apps will get ported to this framework and will MS allow things like spotify, vlc to be available on XB1?
DX12 on all MS platforms
The new voice assistant that beats siri very easily and has some of the features that make google now great. Props to MS on their implementation.

It's hardly surprising coming from Axios2 with the way he or she trolls all the time.
OT - It's displaying the critic scores not user ones. Still think it isn't a good idea metacritic is not to be all and end all to judging a game.
Yh because a 2D side scroller racing game pushes hardware in the same lines of W3, BF4 etc. /s
OT - This info is either an error or there wasn't any extra put into the next-gen versions which will be crazy considering they were supposedly 200+ devs working on all versions.
I kinda agree with that. It still confuses me why they introduced the XB1 the way they did because it wasn't going to please the people that where mainly watching the reveal and since then they haven't really gone back to that messaging which is great. In the end it's the games that will sell and define the XB1 platform so someone like Phil Spencer at the helm now is perfect IMO.
Good decision one of the few people I like a lot at Xbox.
Don't get your hopes up guys sorry. This is fake.
I have know this guy was a fraud with his fake info. It's the same guy in both videos.
Also it's very easy to do what he did ---> http://imgur.com/vKoSrMg
All you need to do is edit the source code with a developer tools on chrome etc which can be in a separate video which is why it doesn't appear in the video. ...
Yh I don't find it too distracting :p. The skyscraper and night screen with the van were part real eye openers for me. Looked like it was filmed with a camera. Goes to show you how lighting, reflections can made something realistic.
The realism in this video is insane. Can't wait to see more and I actually game being developed using this.
Same dev being repi who worked on BF4 and the dev that give all the talks about mantle in BF4/Frostbite 3.
PS4 and XB1 already have what mantle provides iirc so this just sounds like AMD trying to keep mantle relevant in light of DX12 but credit to them for pushing it.
I mean what could mantle provide that the mono driver for XB1 and GNM for PS4 don't already do?
Am I missing something?
Exactly that no one forces you to believe Mort but some things Mort has said in the past that have come true far from just being *educated* guesses.
"who is usually wrong, now we find out he is wrong" - Right list all the usually wrong things he has said.
Personally I give Mort some credibility because he has a proven record of being right quite a bit. He obviously will be wrong from time to time due to the natural of how info is passed to him. (S...
So Sony supposedly spending close to 100m and rebooting a project 3 times are signs of positive spin /s
Justin Richmond going from Naughty dog to Riot games is obviously a career change for what most likely seems like personal reasons.
Sony moving a studio from one location to a bigger location then firing 50+ people suggests something was wrong with a project. I mean it doesn't make sense to expand a studio then cut the workforce after a few months. What...
@nicksetzer1
"who is wrong more than right" - Wait you definitely can't be talking about Mort here. He has the best track record last year and this year of all the big three (CBOAT and thuway). He's been right almost every time. As like Abriael said this is also classed as a rumour you don't have to believe it if you want.
Not only that remember that nintendo new piece I commented on. They are still hiring just look on there jobs sections on their site. But if Mort is to be believed on what happened at SSM then it all makes sense so does the driveclub departure for not meeting the target. The Naughty dog case also makes sense in a way and sounds plausible.

Wait Stig's project cost nearly 100million and was *REBOOTED* 3 times in 4 years. Damn! If this is true then probs to Sony for trying but I think they should have given up soon.
Well now the game industry has certainly been interesting these few days.
Seems kind of odd to go from Naughty Dog to Riot games. Anyways best of luck on his career change.
There's defiantly something going on with Sony studios.
Hmmm... What's with the criticizing of the story and gameplay in a tech/performance analysis? Reading back recent DF analysis this was never discussed.
OT - It seems to handle demanding situations quite well but when ultimate moves are used framerate can drop below 30 but it comes back up quite quickly.
The game really is a work of art. I love the lighting and particle effects, reflections. Man I need to get a PS4 :p.
Edit - I do agree wi...
"Actually that is NOT what he said. I spoke to Lorne afterwards and what he meant when speaking to that guy was that budgets, schedules and perceivable differences would narrow, NOT that the Xbox One performance is improving to align with PS4, that is just physically impossible. The PS4 has MORE COMPUTE units, and faster member and a whole bunch of things, that would make that physically impossible to happen."
Looks like the author of that piece was just trying to c...
