They never made the claims in reference to XB1. It was the author of the author of that article that did that. MS were talking about PC development when they were talking about those improvements and showing the graphs but yh it will be interesting to see what happens.
Though I honestly don't see the XB1 getting a 2X improvements across the board just because of DX12. Even if the CPU is less bottlenecked than before at the end of the day the GPU can only do so much.
Oh my MS are really showing their OS expertises with their constant beefy updates.
Great work so far never expected upload to youtube so soon.
1. "Advanced AI generated by big data." - So far used in one game (Forza 5)
2. "Over 1000 AI on screen at one time." - Ok because every game needs 1000 mindless A.I running around the screen.
3. "Dedicated multiplayer servers for all players." - Available in only 2 games so far (Forza 5 and TF). You're acting like dedicated servers are new to consoles.
4. "True multitasking on Consoles" - Looool yes...
Am not using neogaf as a source. Am using what repi said on youtube video. The only reason neogaf is linked is because what he said was written out. If it makes you so happy I can direct link to the video --> https://www.youtube.com/wat...

So MS and Phil Spencer were lying were they said this --> https://twitter.com/XboxP3/...
"Under the hood, Forza achieves this by using the efficient low-level APIs already available on Xbox One today. Traditionally this level of efficiency was only available on console – now, Direct3D 12, even in an alpha state, brings this efficiency to PC and Phone as well." -->
"On a simple PC screen, that is already huge if it reaches 32″, the difference is so small, that you barely notice. And for a console, how many people connect them to screens that are bigger than 50″, after all? I think that not many. And if you try to notice the difference the game doesn’t make you concentrate that much on the game, but on graphics, which brings me to the most important point of this article." - Sigh not this BS again.
" I strongly doubt that ...
Or maybe they didn't want a repeat of what happened with the X360. Also they wanted their console to be slient as possible. A bigger fan has a larger surface area and wouldn't have to run/work as fast as a smaller one meaning you get less noise.
Do I need to go quote Albert Panello and his direct x/performance comments before launch and how it all turned out to be mostly side-tracking/damage control.
Am sure you also know that XB1 is a console and doe...
So we should also be expecting mass GPU heating issues then.
"As a result, that GPU will be getting pushed twice as hard as it previously was which means more heat on cards that might have only barely been cool enough when they were only being commanded by a single CPU core. We expect to see many marginal video cards setup to experience over heating issues as DirectX 12 suddenly pushes these cards beyond what the IHV had anticipated."

Interesting MS employee.... Am genuinely surprised they have already approved spotify.
Will be interesting to see what other apps they approve.
The game is also cross-gen.... When things like Witcher 3, The Division, AC:Unity etc come out then we will know.
Is this secretly just some article for hits....
The better console depends on what the individual is looking for.
The author really said that wow smh. Do they not know that quite a few of those features have been on the XB1 for a while now. Considering it's a *Console* and has *8-cores*. Did you really think MS would have not enabled that already on the XB1.
So every XB1 will now become a 7870/7950 thanks to DX12 /s.
That reads too much like misterx fanboyism.
Very true and unfortunately we won't be getting any leaks either because the servers are not on until launch day.
"There are of course some technical differences that are due to the technical limitations of the hardware – for example, the game runs above 30fps" - Bet it doesn't stay there very often. Oh man can't wait for DF's framerate analysis because framerate will be far from "king" on this.
Great interview... Am likely the realigned vision from MS. Looking forward to E3.
Kill is a very strong word.
Like it's mentioned in the piece gaming is an afterthought even though they are investing more than I thought they would in it (but afterall it's amazon so it's not too surprising). You don't have main input device for gaming as a separate purchase on a device with gaming in mind.
Also the price isn't going to help that much in swaying gamers because fundamentally it will never gain the support both consoles wi...
Agreed am less skeptical now after seeing this and the brigade engine demo. Just need to see it in game form. I wonder if MS will demo a game at E3 (Halo 5, Sunset overdrive?). Something along the lines of this demo and less like TF.
@iamnsuperman
You have a point. The only way they're going to make this relevant for people is to show it running in a game that will be coming out. I wonder how much bandwidth you will need for something like this though? ...
"turn it back in then log on as a different user then the one originally installing it?" - There's our answer. It's the same as the supposed secret DRM on the PS4 recently and the Killer instinct case from some time ago at a tournament.
Do you know how well that project was going because according to leaks it was supposed to be *revealed* at E3. For a project to be dropped like that if the hearsay is true means something wasn't well with the project/continued investment wasn't worth it for the return to them.
I mean this is the very same studio that recently moved to a bigger complex. You don't just cut a sizeable chuck of your workforce after moving. I mean why move in the first place if not to ...
It also depends on which versions of windows they lock it down to.
